	I want to replace my office laptop (15.6" HP from 2018) with a android tablet - i have a Lenovo M10 Gen 3 Plus 10.6" and i can see using a better tablet with keyboard preferably with extended monitor capability.

	I'll start to kick this off, since I'm surprised this thread doesn't exist yet.
</p>

<p>
	Currently I'm daily driving two phones: an iPhone 12 running on iOS 14.2, as well as an Xperia 1 that's bootloader unlocked and on Android 12; one has a sim card on AT&amp;T, and the other one is awaiting a Vodafone sim for use over here.

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I’m currently looking for a strong laptop for work and everyday use, and I came across the <a href="https://toptechchoices.com/best/laptops" rel="external nofollow">ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605.</a>
</p>

<p>
	Does anyone here have experience with this model? I’m especially interested in whether it’s a good option for long-term performance and multitasking.
</p>

<p>
	My main requirements are:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<p>
			IPS display (matte/anti-glare preferred)
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			At least 32GB RAM (upgradeable if possible)
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			1TB storage with expansion options
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Dedicated graphics if available
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Non-touch screen
		</p>
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	Would the Vivobook 16 M1605 be a good fit, or are there better alternatives in a similar price range?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance!
</p>

	I work part time at a service provider here in Canada.  I had 4 iPhones of various versions oldest being xr, newest being the 16 Pro Max all with security issues.  Their phones were all compromised where they were sending messages that were hidden from view, making calls in the background and apple Id names with different messages in them.  I thought apple were supposed to be the safe and PRIVATE ones.  <br />

	Picked up my iPad because we are going out of town for the weekend and I like taking some goodies with me.  Turned it on and it froze on the settings app for like 35 seconds, then it froze on the Home Screen for another 20 seconds.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It’s a 10th gen iPad so it has enough power to run it no problem so I would assume being it’s just one year old.

	Hi all I hope somebody can help me?
</p>

<p>
	I had an accident with my Clevo N151CU 15.6ins laptop and the hinges have been broken, I have contacted Clevo for the spare parts but have been informed that these parts are no longer manufactured.
</p>

<p>
	I need a new chassis for my laptop including the hinges and I guess a top and bottom case but cannot locate any replacement parts.
</p>

<p>
	Does anybody know where I could purchase these parts or their latest equivalents so I can get my laptop repaired, its only four years old and I really cannot afford to purchase a new one with similar specs.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for any help

	So, obviously sometimes not as awake as one should be <span class="ipsEmoji">😠</span><br />
	<br />
	Left my trusted old Samsung Note 10 Lite in an inner pocket in the wash. No external damage (wallet cover). 1,5 hour double wash, hot water, soap, banging around, centrifugation, did not like that. At all.<br />
	<br />
	Split it open, dried for ages with hot air, everything good and dry, but no start\screen\charging or even heat after 2 days. Nothing. Maybe contact\physical damage on top of water. No practical problem, a recent backup + sim went straight to a spare Samsung. But that Note was a great 'friend' for 4+ years, and could still have lasted for a good while.<br />
	<br />
	Morale, turn on one's head first, thereafter any kind of machine.<br />

	WIll start the clean-up soon, needs some time to locate main culprits &amp; ascertain what to keep. If afraid of messing up a phone playing with adb (easy with command line and then switfly forgetting things), AppControl keeps track of one's actions, like disabling and uninstalling apps (which are getting backed up to pc, no need for factory reset if making some funny errors), one can save presets (for many phones) etc.<br />

	So we were changing over the iPhone display like we do all the time for new model devices in the store and when it was time to remove the two way tape attached to our security systems on the phones, this happened.  The regular 15 and plus handled the removal fine just like every other device we have ever swapped out from any manufacturer.  The pro and pro max however shattered under minimal pressure to remove said tape.

	-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
</p>

<p>
	Now this is just a quick mini review by no means does it cover everything
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	    I picked up this tablet on Amazon.com for 499.99 plus import charges and Tax to Canada coming out to around 750 CAD. steep Price for a SD888 non oled device<br />
	It Has great specs but definetly not flagship in 2024 more mid range. the 2560x1600 display is vibrant and clear with good contrast no as far as Pulse width modulation goes I did a 10 hour gaming session with no signs of tired eyes. the speakers lets be honest they are usually a weakness of tablets from companies that new fresh on the market but these feature a full featured dolby atoms quad speaker array and they are loud crisp and have great mids highs but a touch weak on the lows they don't thump but they are impressively loud and clear.
</p>

<p>
	    As for the general use performance, this thing screams like a sd 8 gen 3 processor in terms of user experience, you click you tube and before you can blink the page is loaded very zippy and responsive. The OS is android 12L and has Leia inspired themes at default, this is what people that are elitist hardcore windows/android users. minimalistic with only important APPs installed. I prefer this version of android over my S21 Ultras Android 14. so overall very nice as it lets you start from scratch and build your visual experience how you want and how it should be.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	    Next, Battery life. now this is a strange one. typically when you max out a 800-1000 dollar tablet you get somewhere in the range of 5 hours screen on time. this bad boy not so much, you will get 3-4 hours using max brightness/performance mode/max speakers and taxing it with a heavy game or running 3d..oh yeah forgot to say this thing has a trick or two to make it one of the most interesting and immersive tablets money can buy. glasses free 3d..no gimmicks no strings attached. now this subject of battery life is strange because when you turn down the brightness to 2-8 percent brightness it looks how typical tablets look at 50 percent brightness, but heres the kicker you will easily get 11 hours taxing the tablet while gaming streaming videos and surfing the web. I personally like to set brightness slider to 0 and turn off speakers and go into airplane mode and play real racing for hours, I get 5 percent drain after 1 hour and 6 min so a little over 20 hours of gaming if you really puch the battery saving measures. as far as VLC and playing back local videos, expect an astonishingly long 33 plus hours. so yeah maxed not so good battery saver and lowering settings, unusually good. I highly recommend this tablet if you dont mind lowering settings and battery is king. Now the interesting catch twenty 2. this thing supports super fast charging 65w super charging. so your tablet will charge extremely quick so if you dont mind taking a coffee break for 10-30min this thing will be back up to 80-90 percent.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	      Now the reason I bought the thing, Artificial Intelligence 3D conversion in real time. this thing lets you stream youtube videos that are say 4k 2d hdr in impressive 3d live with a short ten second wait to begin stream. some of the conversions look better than the imax and NASA conversions from the early 2000s its just that good. the sbs 3d movies that play natively off microsd card or internal storage look good enough to be labled holographic. its far from perfect there is sometimes flickering and ghosting but 99 percent of the time in proper lighting conditions this thing is impressive. you basically get Unlimited 3d coversions from adult sites like youtube ect. And this thing supports micro sd up to 2tb I will be getting a 1.5tb micro sd to store sbs 3d movies and a few favorites. but the fact it runs sbs movies from your home collection and converts video streams is impressive enough, leveraging AI to create depth maps that allow for accurate 3d effects and even slight pop out on native 2d movies. when I saw my first sbs avatar video I was seriously impressed kept thinking wow unreal.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	  S oooo overall id give this tablet a solid buy if 3d interests you even the slightest. if you need a 2d tablet and wont use 3d...this tablet is not for you unless the price drops to 399.99 usd then its a very exceptional deal.
</p>

<p>
	so many things I missed but meh im tired posted 3 000 times small community but the die hards might just be interested in something like this.

	So recently have been looking around for a strong product in the 8-9" arena (Android tablet) and wow has the market vanished in the middle.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The Alldocube tablet looked promising mostly because of its price/performance offering is pretty strong but 1 speaker kind of kills it for me personally, I mostly use my tablet for streaming media.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have been using the MediaPad M3 for maybe 4-5 years now and its been great for what I use it for but the battery is starting to show its age.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It looks like the Y700 2023 is the new price/performance king in the 8" tablet form factor. Has anyone here had any experience with one or perhaps any thoughts on this model?

	Hi!
</p>

<p>
	I dont know if anyone did it but here i am to write about gaming on an Andriod phone using DeX and GFN .
</p>

<p>
	So basicly DeX gives you desktop experience ,that means You are able to use:
</p>

<p>
	- wired or wireless keyboard, mosue ,and even Ethernet
</p>

<p>
	-video output via USB-C , HDMI , DP (maybe VGA and DVI is working but i did not tested it!)
</p>

<p>
	-at a nativ resolution was tested in 1920X1080 , 2560X1440 . Specs says 16:10 and 21:9 is supported at 1920X1200 to 2560X1600 and 2560X1080 to 3440X1440 .
</p>

<p>
	Geforce Now(GFN) mobile application let you play PC games on phones that are supported under GFN .
</p>

<p>
	The playeble resolution depends on the subscription at GFN , Priority allows FHD 60 FPS gaming, Ultimate allows 4K 240FPS gaming.
</p>

<p>
	The last piece that you need is an USB-C hub , i tested 2 hubs . The Hama 200102 (7in1) and the HP Thunderbolt dock G2 .
</p>

<p>
	With the Hama theres no USB-C alt DP output only HDMI (its the hubs fault) , and wired keyboard ,mouse and ethernet is working.
</p>

<p>
	With the HP TB3 dock , it works all of the display options : USB-C alt DP , HDMI, DP, same wired KB/mouse/ethernet are working.
</p>

<p>
	I used an Galaxy S10 8/128 to test GFN , FHD QHD resolution is no problem, sound can be send trough HDMI or DP cable.  The pictures show the HP dock with a Dell C1422H display via USB-C display , the phone can be charged on the regular USB-C port.
</p>

	So, my wife and I were deep in discussion the other evening about just having everything work together technologically for our family. We are both fed up with stuff not working together so we decided on going to apple for our tech...YAH I KNOW!  I fought with this for years, hoping, just hoping we would get something to tie our iOS deivces to windows.  I am tired of waiting....So, the transformation has started. I went and bought two 256gb iPad 10th gens for us. I don't do any heavy lifting on tablets so the base 10th gens are perfect for us.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am using mine as a content consumption device, and she is using hers as a notebook replacement. I have 2 Logitech keyboard setups coming for them that actually use the apple connection on the iPad for the keyboard to work. Better than Bluetooth IMO. I started trying stuff with the ipad and connected my USB C dock to the tablet, and put my Logitech receiver in it for the mouse.  Bam....worked right away.  Then I pluged in a DP cable and bam...worked right away.  So, she can use her ipad as a complete computer replacement for doing things like basic word processing, excel, web surfing and doing graphic design for our businesses. It's much faster than her dell 2 in 1 we bought a few years ago, and the screen is the same size but much clearer.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am very impressed with the new iPads. Plus, they just work when we need them to. OMG I just said the magic fanboy words "it just works".  I am going to off myself now...have a great day people!<span class="ipsEmoji">🤪</span>

	I was showing Kojackwife the new pixel and all the great features it has for her and her work with the meeting transcription and summarizing built into the phone.  That will make her work life MUCH better instead of having to write out the transcripts, the pixel will give her the rough draft automatically with summaries, then she can go in and just make changes as needed.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am getting the pro for the extra photo awesomeness.  Can't wait to be not tied to the applesphere for a change. She's excited for some customizing freedoms as well.

	FInally, Microsoft has pulled their head out of their rectum and did some coding to make iOS devices work with phone link. I have been crying for this for YEARS!  Since screenovate came out with mobile connect, I have been saying Microsoft is one of the largest software companies in the world and this little company can do it before you?  WTF?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Anywhoo, yesterday they put it through the insiders builds so hopefully it will be in the wild within a month or so.  I am sure it will function reliably whereas screenovate's technology (now being used by intel), has been flakey and unreliable at best. At worst, you start it up and it crashes.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I will be keeping a keen eye on this one since I hate having to pick up my phone at my desk when in the middle of doing work.  I know, 1st world problems, but it's my problem.

	Apple has announced that the new iPhone 15 and 15 Pro will switch from the Lightning connector to USB-C.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The regular 15 will operate at USB 2.0 speeds, and the Pro will operate at USB 3.0 speeds.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The SE, as far as I can tell, isn't being refreshed and will continue to use Lightning for the time being.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thoughts?  Feelings?  Will you miss Apple's proprietary ports, or have you already adopted USB-C for everything else?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	---
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have a small collection of Lightning cables for my SE, but never bought any Lightning-based accessories, so I'm not heavily invested in Lightning.  On the other hand, I don't have any USB-C accessories either.  So overall I guess I'm pretty neutral on this one.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	But I do wish they'd have the courage to add a headphone jack to one of their future models.

	Ive been looking for a handheld or portable video player for kids, something with a simple interface.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am aware of cheap mp4 players off of eBay and the like, but those often have hoops to jump through as far as getting the media to work.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am hoping to find something that I can hook up to a pc as external storage. Like a portable dvd player with a hard drive and will play most video formats.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have tried tablets in the past and it has always been more of a hassle than it’s worth.
</p>

<p>

<p>
	My wife recently has been letting our kids watch videos off of an old iPod and it has been working perfectly.
</p>

<p>

<p>
	Again though the issue comes with iTunes being somewhat finicky a loading videos on it.  But this might be what I end up doing.
