	Yesterday my AW 14 started randomly freezing for several seconds, and repeating the same chunk of sound, as though it was hard crashing. However, it would recover within 10 or so seconds. This was really worrying me till I learned my friend's M17x R4 started having the same issue at the same time!<br />
	Long story short, Dell just released an update to SupportAssist on Jun 23 that is unstable, at least on older machines.
</p>

<p>
	Here's how to fix it:<br />
	<br />
	1: Open task scheduler<br />
	2: Locate SupportAssist task
</p>

<p>
	3: Disable it<br />
	<br />
	Next, open Services<br />
	1: Scroll down to the Dell Services<br />
	2: Right click on all the services beginning with "Dell" and click disable, one by one.<br />
	<br />
	Restart your computer, and it should work fine again!<br />
	<br />
	EDIT: I've now done this with four machines, 2 have been fixed, one still has less bad issues, and one reinstalled supportassist. I'm going to try and fix the last too, I'll get back to you if I find a way to fix that.<br />
	<br />
	Known affected models:<br />
	M17x R4
</p>

<p>
	M17x R5
</p>

<p>
	15 R3<br />
	14 R1<br />

	Hi, I have to change my laptop and my current choice is between the Tongfang GM7PX7N (XMG Neo 17 / Eluktronics Mech-17) and the Alienware M18 (probably the R2, which should be nearly identical).
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;border:0px;color:#1a1a1a;font-size:14px;padding:0.8em 0px 0.25em;vertical-align:baseline;">
	So, I wanted to ask some questions to M18 owners:
</p>

<ol style="background-color:#ffffff;border:0px;color:#1a1a1a;font-size:14px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
	<li style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
			How is the AWCC currently? Does it also give options to manage fan curves and cpu power limits?
		</p>
	</li>
	<li style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
			How has the cooling evolved over time in relation to temps? Does it still hold up?
		</p>
	</li>
	<li style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
			Is the Quiet profile usable in gaming? And if so, how quiet does it stay in-game?
		</p>
	</li>
	<li style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p style="border:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
			How is the display quality overall? I 've read that brightness is around 300-350 nit only, so I'm a bit worried about it. Can it be also used outside in the shade?
		</p>
	</li>
</ol>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;border:0px;color:#1a1a1a;font-size:14px;padding:0.8em 0px 0.25em;vertical-align:baseline;">
	Basically, what I need is a laptop that acts as a desktop replacement and could grant me enough headroom to handle temps/fan noise, cause I don't want to worry about these any more than usual. Do you think the M18 might be a good choice? Would you recommend it?
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;border:0px;color:#1a1a1a;font-size:14px;padding:0.8em 0px 0px;vertical-align:baseline;">
	Thanks in advance!
</p>
