Speaking of displays, I wanted to upgrade the FHD (1920 x1080) display on my 7780 to a UHD 4k panel but was told by my reseller (CIK Audio Video) that it can't be done. Can someone confirm it is not possible ? Seems a little strange...

I've been reading about the defective desktop processors and there are reports that mobile CPUs might also be effected. Has anyone experienced any problems with their Precision laptops ?

Does anyone have a 7780 with RTX 5000 Ada ? Can you confirm it has a vapor chamber ? Does it run much cooler ? Can a vapor chamber be added to the RTX 4000 Ada ? Asking for a friend 🙂

I upgraded from my m6700 to a 7780 (13950hx + Ada 4000 RTX) and I love it. I mostly use it for Photoshop and run several modern gaming emulators and it's so fast I always leave it set to "best power efficiency" - it stays at 55C. It does get hotter if you keep it on your lap and block the air vents. I read the ADA 5000 RTX comes with a vapor chamber - has anyone seen it ? Can it be fitted to the 4000 ?

I recently bought a 7780 and the first thing I did was image the original disk before doing a clean windows 11 install. I ended up going back to the original image because I couldn't get the clean installation properly configured 100%. Everything seemed ok, all devices had the proper drivers installed that I got from the dell website using my service tag, but I just couldn't get this one application in a VirtualBox VM to work, the app only runs on Windows 7 with a USB dongle for security and it just wouldn't work until I restored the original Dell Windows 11 image. It was the weirdest thing, I've been running the VM and application for years using various PCs and the only time it wouldn't run was with a clean windows install on my Precision 7780. So you might want to install the Dell specific windows version to avoid any problems down the line.
