  1. LibreOffice is worth checking out. It’s open-source and handles DOC and XLS files pretty well. I’ve used it for quick edits and formatting, and it’s straightforward to work with. Another option could be Google Sheets—uploading files there is simple, and it lets you edit and save without installing anything. If your wife is dealing with more advanced stuff in Excel, resources like excel.tv could be useful. It’s great for learning Excel tips and tricks or getting help with more complex tasks while sticking to free tools.
