  1. Hi, I just wanted to know if an NV75W heatsink is enough for a GTX980M for the Alienware 18 Thanks
  2. Old configuration were two 860m, and the surface of their chips of those were covered fully by the NV75W, but it still should work with a 980m right?
  3. Hi, since I have an older Alienware 18 I wanted to sell, I just wanted to make sure that the heatsink works properly, as you can see the heatsink does't cover the entire chip I highlighted in the picture, it that okay? The chip should be still cooled off properly right? (I will put thermal pads on all the chips of the GPU) Thanks
  4. Hi everyone, I finally purchased my new motherboard for my Alienware 18, and want to replace it... Do I have to do anything software-related, or bios changes before or after the swap? I also bought a new CMOS battery, all it takes is to replace it physically or I must do something on the bios also? Thanks for help
  5. Good afternoon, So I found this heatsink for my future GTX1070 MXM for my Alienware 18, but its for the right side of the motherboard, will the laptop work properly, if I install the GPU on the right side? (this heatsink only fits for the GPU in the right side) Thx
  6. Hey thanks so much for the detailed answer! I'm sorry to get to you this late, but I finally got back access to this account. Thanks again for your answer
  7. Ok perfect I understand, thx so much
  8. Sorry, by flashing the motherboard with the modified bios, you mean doing the SG mod again? (Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by flashing)
  9. Good evening everyone, So I want to change the motherboard of my Alienware 18 (the CN-04703X motherboard) for a new one because I'm a bit afraid that the old one won't last too much. The thing is, I managed to change the BIOS display setting to SG mode (I modified the BIOS because I'm going to install a GTX1070 in the future). So when I get the motherboard and change it, will the SG setting stay as is? or will I loose my modification or cause further problems? (Or should I change to default display setting, swap the motherboard and then I can swap it to SG back again?) Please help and thanks, I just want to make sure I don't cause display issues, its an expensive laptop.
  10. By the way, the website even has a RTX4090MXM!
