  1. @Mambucho good news, got 96 gb crucial working @ 5200 mhz, maybe ill sit it out a little longer before experimenting with 128gb 😄
  2. I mean for 7680, won't it cause instability or maybe processor modified by Dell to only support up to 96gb? I'm asking cuz I'm really tempted 😂
  3. im abit skeptical about if 128gb works, I bought the 96gb kit, what do you think reference:
  4. @iieeann have heard of multiple cases for 7780 but only saw one for 7680. For 7780 is it also mentioned in the docs that it can support maximum 64gb sodimm as it is for 7680 ?
  5. Anyone here managed to upgrade their Dell Precision 7680 to 96gb (48gb x 2) SODIMM ? Can it be done ?
  6. @Mambucho Yes precisely, thanks a lot man !! Do you think 96gb (48gbx2) crucial ram will work ? 😅
  7. @Mambucho want to report back that I finally solved the issue on my 4th interposer, but I belive it was not the interposer but rather the technique I was using when installing the interposer. So what really did the trick was carefully screwing the interposer to the thin connector. Heres the exact step I followed for others who might be in the same situation: - screw the right side but dont screw in fully just until it fits lightly - screw the left side in fully (slightly more than the right side) - screw the right side in slightly more I can confirm that the above did the trick because when I attempted to screw both side tightly it threw the 4 white, 2 amber error and when I did the above step it started detecting the RAMs again. The key is to NOT TO TIGHTLY FIT the screws holding the interposer to the connector plate. Another thing I realized is that the right side of motherboard of the laptop (not the interposer) is sligthly elevated compared to the left which could be the reason that tightly fitting the screws in could lead to some misalignments between the interposer and connector plate. I state this because the same screw sized screw that was able to screw the left side of the interposer was not able to screw the right side for which I had to use a longer screw. Would be curious what others think about this, thanks for all the assistance !
  8. @Mambucho So I bought a second interposer module and same thing persists this time only the bottom slot works (Both RAM inserted individually and tested) whereas the top slot does not work. So confused
  9. @Mambucho same got the exact same one form aliexpress. Strange thing is both RAM stick work on Slot 1 and adjust to 5200Mhz but dont work on Slot 2 (4 white + 2 amber), so likely I assume the issue is with the interposer ?
  10. @rintalahri bought the LS-L88LP and only 1 slot of the interposer works, other one does not
  11. @Mambucho Forgot to mention additionally, both the RAM sticks work on the top slot nearest to the connector when tested individually but both of them don't work when I connected then to the bottom one. Did you try something like that ? Also may I ask what is the model number of your interposer or where you purchase it from ? Apparently there are 2 models LS-L88BP and LS-L88LP, mine is LS-L88LP
  12. @Mambucho ok let me try a few more times, by the way what is your rationale for doing the CAMM-to-DDR exchanges and also when you left it for 30 minutes you mean when the 4 white and 2 amber lights were blinking ?
  13. @MambuchoNo luck man, I tried what you recommended but the second slot of the interposer just does not work, the first slot that is nearer to the connector always works with both my RAM sticks.
  14. @Mambucho Thanks for your reply will try this out and update. May I clarify if you faced the exact same scenario as me ?Because the RAM gets detected with 32gb on first slot just don't know why installing ram on the second slot always results in the 4 white + 2 amber error. Even just installing 1 ram stick on the second results in the same error
  15. @MambuchoI purchased a sodimm interposer with thin plate for 32gb x 2 RAMs, unfortunately only 1st slot works with both RAMs and second slot always results in 4 white + 2 amber lights indicating memory error. what might be the issue ? 😞
  16. nah personally unless its a touch screen, I would not opt for a screen protector
  17. Well explained, its a shame that Dell does not have this information documented on their website somewhere
  18. recently bought the dell 240W charger, yet to see any noticeable difference but in theory it should be able to make use of of the additional power for intensive tasks. Will update after tinkering around abit
  19. appreciate this information, I believe mine is a non-performance one (without a discrete GPU, only the intel i9-13950HX processor), when I tried to install a SODIMM interposer with the RAMs with the default thick plate that came with the CAMM memory module, the back cover of the laptop would not fit. This explains why, thank you. Will purchase the thin plate. Was also curious how you came about to find out about this information, seems pretty niche 😂 On a side note I tried to recently replace 83Wh battery with a 93Wh one, while the 93Wh battery fit into the enclosure the battery connector wire was not long enough for the 93Wh battery, any information regarding the part number for this longer battery connector ? 😄
