There's nothing that irritates me more than having to work on a car in the rain. And today was that day...

My Jabra earbuds took a dive. Though they will be warranty replaced, I had enough cc rewards and got a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2. They sound great, but had to get the memory foam eartips so they stay in. π That's an awesome steal. Do you not like your Z13 flow enough to keep it? I considered it when looking around but ended up getting a Zenbook Pro since I don't use my Surface Pro 6 anymore after I graduated.

It was a Kenmore 18, used off of Craigslist, but in excellent shape. The previous fridge was from 1976 and falling apart. This replacement was manufactured 2008. So it is a big difference. I went with a Maytag washer for it's Pet Pro feature. The washer definitely does not spin as fast as the old Maytag, but it is quieter and the pet hair removal feature does actually work.

Some boring stuff in the past few months like a new (used) fridge for the garage, new washer, new-new fridge for the inside of the house. But I had an unexpected turn of events with my Galaxy Z Flip3, and Sammy made me a very nice offer...so I upgraded:

May was a very terrible month. Got laid off, came down with a bad infection (still fighting it) and had my phone stolen π This June gloom needs to go away so I can spend some time at the beach βοΈ

Forgot to post this back in April. Apparently Razers are very hard to obtain, so I went with an Asus Zenbook Pro... Other than a driver issue it's been great

Few items arrived over holiday break... New carry-on backpack so I can get rid of the duffel bags I've had since grade school. And the 3D printer I got off Kickstarter finally showed up Also trying to buy a Razer Blade 15 or 17. Not been successful yet...

I begrudgingly agreed to do back to back work trips in Sept. First to North Carolina, then to Germany...

Bit the bullet and got a Synology 4-drive NAS. Put in 4 WD-RED 6TB drives and 2 Samsung SSDs. I can sleep easier knowing my files are backed up.

I just got the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. My poor SGS 10 is slowly (rapidly) dying so I could not wait for the Z Flip4 to be released. And Samsung offered a real good deal for it and threw in a Galaxy Watch 4. One of my students in the Fall had the Flip. It was a much better device that I expected so I am excited to finally get one.

The latest firmware update to my S10 completely killed all notifications and functionality to my watch. It all gets stuck somewhere in Android. If I restart, it works for a little bit then β οΈ I guess its time for a new phone π₯²

So much time wasted. I spent the past 1.5 years working on an autonomous go-kart. Instructor brought me in as a paid undergrad researcher. After my 2 quarters were finished I stayed on as a volunteer to see the project thru, and the kart put to the ground and driving. We almost had the go-kart on the ground then I get called in by the Uni admins. My instructor lied about so much. About this being a legit research project, about me being allowed to stay on as a volunteer after graduation. That was in mid-March. After numerous interviews by Uni staff, I read the writing on the wall that they were looking to show my instructor the door and was advised to keep my distance from him so he doesn't drag me down with him. I at least hope the team can take the (hopefully) finished go-kart to competition in May.
