  1. problem with shunt mod is not temperature related. it give the gpu more current , regardless of the manufacturer standard. for silicon propriety, more current u give in long term, more it will need in the future. for esample, now gpu will need 0,8volt 100A. after 2 years it will need 0,82volt and 102A. with shunt mod u give gpu 1.1volt and 120A. after 2 year it will need to stay stable at same clock with first shunt mod install 1,2volt and 130A. after a while the bga will not work even with much more overvolting. there are a lots of discussion and video on yt about shunt mod vga failure.
  2. most of the shunt gpu mod killed the bga in long term use. i wouldnt do that. u can try oc the gpu core based on the optimal vcore. it's much better to have a stable notebook then a faster one πŸ™‚
  3. it's a 3080. for heatsink, if we compare price vs performance, the home made tshape heatsink at a cost of 47€is the best u can get with decent temperature. then there is the t-shape from viktor for 150-200$. maybe ytour vapor champer is first for performance, but for 400-600€ i would never get that money back. also the x170 has native vapor chamber for the 30xx series so it will be more cheap to sell the p870 and get an x170 instead of spending too much on a heatsink. also for the 40xx series. i wouldnt go for it as that vga doesnt have external power and when first 1070 mxm comes out without external power, almost all of them died after a while.
  4. hi today i finally modded my second heatsink. tomorrow ill assembly all and test. it was not that hard to modify it , and for 47€i think this would be the best heatsink for p870 series....
  5. hi i,ve ordered another of that heatsink some weeks ago. code is : 6-31-P872N-401 and i got it from aliexpress for 49€ ship included. u can find it here: p870km t shape heatsink for gtx 10x0 series. one is for 10 series gtx and the other is for gtx 980 desktop bga. now i dunno if i should cnc the ram pad without heating the heatsink or go full process and maybe attach to my modded heatsink pad ...

  8. im glad u had the pads fit perfect. what temperature u reach max ? remember that now is winter time, and lots of 1070, 1080 that were cooled by one heratsing only radiator got killed overtime. with my old 1070 and double heatsink like u i had max temp of 75Β° even in summer time. card is still working after so many years. u can also unvervolt the gpu. for the 200watt mod if i remember correctly, there is a bios to unlock that power. it should be easy to flash via dos, but u need to find the correct thread.

  10. multiplyer 47x then voltage offset - (minus) and check if -80 is ok. generally with 9700k i have -80 and 46 on all core. tried -100 millivolt but was not stable. ps: where did u get rtx 3080 heatsink from ? t

  12. this exact heatsink was used by a russian dude... it reported to have high temperature on full load when only with air cooling mode. that's because it's not made of full copper and it has 2 heatpite each gpu side... too few for better performance. it's on yt..... search for p870 rtx 3080... there are metro exodus test and u can see gpu temperature is really gigh. i talked to that guy on vk and he confirmed heatsink was expensive and he get gihg temperature. for me best performance/price is the other heatsink viktor showed us in this thread. for 100€ my heatsink is not that bad too πŸ™‚ ps: about that 3080 with p870 score that are close or equal 4080-4090.... to get that score, massive overclock has to be done..... if an 3080 mobile score like 4080 mobile..... fair comparison would be compare overclocked cpu, overclocked gpu on both system....
  13. power limit 1 to 135000 , also power limit 2 to 135000. then on processor on bottom of that bios page, put the "-" and then 80mv. try with all core to 4.6ghz.
