What parts did they replace? I'm also getting tired of this machine. I've been experiencing the following issues: 1- The machine freezes for a split second every few minutes. When audio is playing at the same time, it also makes a buzzing noise through the speakers when it freezes/stutters for the split second. 2- When pushing the machine hard (doing rendering work), it freezes/stutters more often, to the point that it sounds like a popping/crackling noise coming from the speakers. 3. Every now and then when rendering, the machine would crash, forcing a restart. Dell has replaced the speakers and system board twice. I also believe it's a platform problem.

Thanks for posting your results. I’ve now run Cinebench R23 multiple times, and the highest score I can achieve is 30,054, which is significantly lower than what others with the same spec are reporting. However, in Cinebench 2024 my score is 1,925, which does align with results I’ve seen online. It’s strange that only the R23 scores are coming in so much lower. My specs are: Intel 285HX 64gb CSODIMM Blackwell RTX 4000

I completely agree. Most industries are moving in this direction as a way to reduce costs. My main concern right now is that this expensive machine is proving frustrating to use for video and audio editing. I could ask Dell to replace it with a lower-spec model from a different product range, but that would mean compromising on performance and potentially ending up with the same issues, given that this seems to be a widespread problem.

The buzzing noise happens even when I don’t change the power modes. Intermittent buzzing still occurs when listening to music or streaming video. Buzzing also occurs on external monitor’s speakers when connected via HDMI. This type of buzzing is unacceptable for such an expensive machine, especially when audio and video editing will be done on the machine.

I eventually received my replacement dell 18 Pro Max although the replacement machine has the same issue with intermittent buzzing when I play audio. Can someone please check for me if you experience the following when the machine is plugged in: If you change the power mode (in windows settings) between any of the three power modes whilst playing audio, does the machine make a slight buzzing noise when it switches power mode? For references, my specs: Core ultra 9 HX 64gb SODIMM RAM RXT 4000 2tb SSD

Yes, I have a similar issue with mine. It usually happens when I'm also playing audio or streaming video. THe machine would freeze, I would hear a buzzing noise and then the screen would go black. Sometimes it returns to windows, other times I have to hard reset. I've noticed it help to get it to return to windows if I unplug the charge cable. Dell is coming to replace the system board beginning next week.

I’m still in discussion with Dell trying to find the cause for this issue. Can I please ask someone with one of these 18inch machines to check if you experience the following: While plugged in and any type of music or video streaming with audio is playing, and you switch power modes, does the speakers make a very slight buzzing noise for a split second every time you change the power mode? You’ll have to listen very carefully for the buzzing noise, it’s not very loud.
