jerboy04 Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM Hey everyone, So i have a new to me dell latitude 5421 with the i7-11850h, and i read online that it was possible to undervolt the cpu by booting into grub and modifying certain values, and i did it. my stupid self ignored the glaring fact that it was for the XPS/Precision line, but i still attempted it anyways, and now it's just throttling the cpu due to power limits. any way i can go and revert this, or just flash a fresh bios? any advice is welcome! SACbomber Posted yesterday at 03:12 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:12 AM Had a brief flirt with a Precision so might be able to help. Did you follow this guide? Think the varstores are different for each laptop/BIOS version. Blindly following any one guide means you possibly modified some varstore you didn't mean to. Needed to dump bios and analyze the dump with some custom tools. You remember what varstores you modified? SAC reports all bombers in the air!
