Anyone use garuda linux? What are your thoughts?

I am looking at running garuda linux on a dual book with my workstation and laptop.  Anyone have any experience with it? Sure does look cool, that's for sure.

It's Arch with KDE and very vibrant themes. It offers a lot of automated processes for streamling fiddly Arch updating. It's my backup distro, my main is TuxedoOS.

Ok. perfect. I was reading about Arch and all the "fiddling" that was needed. I guess garuda fixed that so it can be used by the non techie.

Oh, what about the gaming emulators. How easy are they to use?

The Dragonized edition comes with a bunch of pre-installed emus covering every need. I guess, that every edition of Garuda will be easy to use with emus. I have already great experience with Steam and Lutris.

I went to install garuda on my laptop, and it would not load no matter what I tried. Windows on my old SSD kept C*@Kblocking it. Did I miss a step?  I downloaded the ISO then pushed it through balena.  Was there anything else I needed to do?  Do I extract the ISO?

Update. it was windows 11 on my old drive blocking the install (go figure).  I took another system I have here that had an old deepin copy on it and garuda fired right up.  it's almost completely loaded here now and I can't wait to fart around with it.  The system it's on is my old acer s3 391.  Super low spec, but at least I can try the functionality of it.  If I like it I will format the old drive I have here and give it a whirl on my new system.

I have tested the Garuda OS on the old system and whilte it looks fantastic, I don't get alot of it.  Like if I download a app, it does not show up in apps.  Where did it go?  I need some help configuring it I guess.

I'm giving garuda another go today. Doing 420 updates now and trying tk get the apps to show when I install them

Got everything up to date on garuda. Now that I know how to install software, It's great.  I love the look of the OS. Will be a daily driver for me I am not sure as some of the inner workings are wonky. But overall, I like it alot.  It always comes back to ease of use.  No linux distro is as easy to use as Windows. Moreso for someone who has special needs.  That's why windows continues to win out for us.  Even after all the crap MS is pumping into it, it's just easy.
