The case is EXACTLY the same as the 2024 and 2025 Pro models. They dropped the sd card reader and tapered the edges to make it look thinner after the ports. Simply you have not followed closely the evolution. And about the MUX switch I asked Perplexity because personally I get crazy runtimes where the dGPU is totally inactive:

"You do not need a MUX switch to get very good battery life on a Gram‑type machine; with modern Optimus/Advanced Optimus the dGPU can power‑gate down to essentially zero when idle, so most of the time your iGPU already gives you near‑maximum battery without any manual dGPU deactivation.reddit+1

What the MUX actually does

  • A MUX switch is mainly for performance, letting the dGPU drive the internal panel directly and avoid the iGPU bottleneck in games (higher FPS, a bit more latency sensitive).laptopmag

  • It does not magically save battery; in “dGPU only” mode it usually reduces battery life, because the dGPU is forced on all the time.

EDIT:

The problem with no MUX with the GRAM is probably you do not get full FPS in games and if I connect an external monitor at the HMDI port it is driven by the iGPU.
