Sebastian Ramirez Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago My GTX1070 MXM is a bit bent, will it cause issues? I just want to make sure the thermal pads are making proper contact with the heatsink
Tenoroon Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I (unknowingly) ran incorrect thermal pads for a few months on my MSI 1070 and bent the snot out of it in the VRM area at the top. It still ran fine, but it's not ideal. If you just need to test it, you should be fine, but for long term use I'd try to tighten down the heatsink without any pads and use a pair of calipers to get a rough estimate on proper sizing. You want to run a little thicker on thermal pads, but not too thick as to bend the card. Running bent long term will make it keep its bent shape which also isn't ideal. Is that a cichichen (however his name is spelled, can't remember) for a 17inch or 18inch Alienware?
