I was just doing luring.

I skipped 10-20 questions and had 18 min left and still scored 100 lol....english is not my strength

suprised no ones done the test, its been 24 hours and 0 posts of results. are you guys saying you are genius but don't want to prove it?

kinda like saying I know the grand unified theory of everything but i'd rather not share It. just take my word for it!!

life is alot like chess. easy to say your good at chess, hard to win without thinking deeper than the opponent. once you blunder you have to play the game out with that mistake. very similar to life.

forest gump is also correct, we don't really have options. we have and we accept. I did not choose to be smart/dumb/white/black ect. too put someone down for having a rock they did not pick for their bag.

yeah im not too sure if its bogus or what but most iq tests online are not accurate....mensa is well known. worth a shot

what did you guys score

funny story bro, you guys are at least hilarious (big sign of intelligence) I just am curious because you guys sometimes suprise me with what you say. very smart people here, imagine what mr fox or prema would score. they would easily get the max 145

mesa is not table according to many sources, I remember it being a constellation..table seemed irrelevant. but heres an encyclopeadia's take

Mesa comes from the Latin mensa meaning "table," which is very much what a mesa looks like.

mensa is a latin derivative

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mensa_International

The word mensa (/ˈmɛnsə/, Latin: [ˈmensa]) is Latin for 'table', as is symbolised in the organisation's logo, and was chosen to demonstrate the round-table nature of the organisation; the coming together of equals.[10]

Mensa's requirement for membership is a score at or above the 98th percentile on certain standardized IQ or other approved intelligence tests, such as the Stanford–Binet Intelligence Scales. The minimum accepted score on the Stanford–Binet is 132, while for the Cattell it is 148 and 130 in the Wechsler tests (WAIS, WISC).[15] Most IQ tests are designed to yield a mean score of 100 with a standard deviation of 15; the 98th-percentile score under these conditions is 131, assuming a normal distribution.[16]

Most national groups test using well-established IQ test batteries, but American Mensa has developed its own application exam. This exam is proctored[clarification needed] by American Mensa and does not provide a score comparable to scores on other tests; it serves only to qualify a person for membership.[citation needed] In some national groups, a person may take a Mensa-offered test only once, although one may later submit an application with results from a different qualifying test. The Mensa test is also available in some developing countries such as India and Pakistan, and societies in developing countries have been growing at a rapid pace.[15]

jay it's designed to have a mean score of 100. did you have time left? I had like 20 min left to perfect my answers but just skipped through. your iq is likely 115-130. very good mine is always around 120 no matter what test I do. im just average in my mind

and jay I skipped like 20 questions because it seemed to go on forever and didnt feel like plowing through it for hours was thinking wheres the logic questions visual spatial anagrams? ect... like where's the varience

ok I took a second look. It appears they are using patterns and mixing in the rest. like sequences with patterns. since it's a geniuses society I get why they would do that, one extra conversion. its not important to skip questions blindly as they get harder as you go up. but the time left is more important. if you have 20 minutes to solve 10 questions and get all right then your IQ score goes up two deviations but only if you wizzed through the first 20 questions. personally when I'm just thinking and going about life and playing around with words and numbers ect. I think alot deeper than what this test presented. but when it comes to day to day conversation I sometimes wonder if I even think at all, nothing really stimulates me. Im guessing JAY that your Iq is higher than mine, possibly higher than the test can measure but im happy with 100-135, nothing wrong with being average, but the world treats me like my IQ is 40-50 when its actually above average and average in the worst case scenerio. ill take 100

my point was im happy being average, I know I am capable of much more. also im kinda curious to see if one of you NBRers can score 145 on the mensa test.

no one? are you guys scared of being average...lol oh comon brothers and sisters.....it takes 30 min

also to clarify I was not saying im dumb it was just a lure like a personal reference for everyone to take the test....would be nice to see NBRs makeup like @Custom90gts score...he would most likely score the highest as hes more educated than us

I do think there is some intimidation factor of taking an IQ test, especially one that after reading here, appears to be focusing more on pattern recognition and likely favors those with good problem solving skills/deductive reasoning.  I'm actually not a fan of a "one size fits all" approach to measuring IQ as intelligence comes in many flavors.  Nor am I a true believer in education really pointing towards a high IQ.  I've worked hard to get where I am today, I don't believe I've had some innate intelligence, only a strong work ethic.

Having said all of that, if I have some free time today between patients, I may give it a go.

ure absolutely right, a high/low IQ doesnt mean jack depending on your principles, work ethics, surroundings (supportive or destructive).

IQ is a bit like RAM speed: ALL other things being equal in a particular machine, thats when RAM speed makes a difference. but 99% of the time u have a CPU or GPU bottleneck that makes RAM speed rather tertiary 😄

Just did a run through of it and it's really geared towards pattern recognition. I had 15 minutes left and my "IQ" is 125.  True neuropsych testing takes hours, so a 10 minute test isn't going to give you any sort of real idea what's going on. I could have spent much more time trying to figure out what the answers really were for the harder ones, but I've got to get ready for work.  No idea if spending more time would really help the way it measures IQ either, there's probably some function of how fast you are able to deduce the patterns built in to the test as well.

woah customgt I agree along with jay. 125 is really good. it may not be hours long but they claim it's accurate.

technically you qualify for mensa membership/

I scored 135 on a online iq test before but its not very accurate...100 seems about right..I would love to be smarter but hey no one chooses IQ

Again this is just a test of ones ability to recognize/deduce patterns. It's one of the many forms of intelligence and it's certainly not a global way to rate someone's IQ.  I'll be honest as I don't know what the requirements of being in Mensa are or how the really test IQ to get there, but if it's only based on one domain then it's a total joke.

In all my work in many different career fields including engineering and medicine, I value hard work and honesty much more than someone's overt "intelligence."

I personally have a belief and life philosophy that goes...."every single person I meet has something to teach me that is WORTH MY LEARNING. No matter how stupid, intelligent, obnoxious, charming, rude, two face, genuine or disgusting a person is; if I can sift through their BS and find even one diamond bit of information that will count when the time comes".....it's just a matter of me having patience enough.

That said I have had some friends in the past I thought were dumb as dog doody, that had real strokes of genius that left me shaking my head thinking "why the hell didn't I think of that"

I think IQ tests are not great. Albert Einstein was social misfit, Friedrich Nietzsche wanted sex with his sister and Bill Gates...well :classic_wacko:

A huge IQ didn't save Stephen Hawking, unfortunately. To make it in this life you also need some willpower, some luck and some balls.

yeah I was under the impression it was just patterns, basically only a fraction of the intelligence spectrum..who knows though maybe they can deduce more from the patterns.

I guess it doesnt matter at the end of the day, as long as your happy honest and value hard work, and as eban states basically everyone is capable of something great.
