jcordero
I have two laptops identical P870TM1-G laptops, one has Prema BIOS and the other having Eurocom's unlocked BIOS. The one with Prema BIOS has a core i7 8700k, a single GTX 1080 with a 144 hz 1440p screen paired with G-Sync while the other has a Eurocom unlocked BIOS with a core i9 9900KF and two GTX 1080s in SLI and a 4k display. Is it possible to flash the Prema BIOS over the unlocked Eurocom BIOS on the other laptop and not brick it? @Papusan@electrosoft

In order to avoid the above problems, you need to open your BIOS dump in the Coffee Time 0.92 program and unlock FD locks, as well as update ME to 11.8.77.3664 Corporate and select the ME Disabled value. Save your updated bios dump and download it to your laptop. As far as I remember, Eurocom used Prema bios until the events that many people know about happened ... so I don’t think it makes sense to change the BIOS in your case, with a high probability they will be the same except for the boot logo) Сlevo p870tm1-g 17.3 Fhd 300Hz i9-10980hk ES rtx3060. / Clevo x170smg 17.3 300Hz i9-10850k rtx2070super 32g ddr4 3200Mhz Gskill. / Clevo x170kmg 17.3 2k 165Hz i5-11600k rtx3080 32g ddr4 3200Mhz Hyper-X. jcordero
Thanks! What exactly is FD lock and why is Intel's management engine need to be updated to corporate? Is it a compatibility issue with the BIOS?

Is it a compatibility issue with the BIOS? The Intel Flash Descriptor (FD) is a data structure that is programmed on the SPI flash chip on all Intel based platforms. It contains information such as space allocated for each region of the flash image, read-write permissions for each region, reserved space for vendor-specific data, chipset configuration parameters and more. In the BIOS from Prema FD is blocked by default and therefore, when installing such a BIOS, you do not have access to overwriting all regions (blocks) in the BIOS structure, which in turn can cause incorrect BIOS installation and ultimately leads to the above described consequences. Changing the ME to a fresher and cleaner one also increases the chances of a successful installation.
