	So I can't post to customer experience but, i've bought about 10 FW laptops at work. EDIT: NOT UNDER MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT
</p>

<p>
	I feel like i'm getting more and more frustrated with FW. The forums are starting to break the cammels back. i can't post to customer experience. Our topic on windows for enterprise was locked after i started discussing how to legally purchase windows 11 LTSC through the MS volume lisinceing partner portal.
</p>

<p>
	as some of you may know the AMD frameworks have Microsoft Pluton embeded in to the motherboard. Your TPM is tied to windows 11 if you have to run windows. if you use Framework in the business sector you might use an enterprise version. after posting links to the official MS pages for business to show people where they are located the thread was locked for "Piracy". instead of banning the guy and deleting his comments they locked the entire thread.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	FYI you can NOT disable Pluton on framework.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	I feel like framework is getting worse not better. you can't order via P.O, you can't set legacy TPM for business still stuck on w10, discussion of LTSC is frowned upon. And while the support isn't Asus or  NewEgg bad but, it isn't stellar either.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://youtu.be/tE89COeFw7I?si=IKwynsy3JhOqtjaP" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/tE89COeFw7I?si=IKwynsy3JhOqtjaP</a>
</p>

<p>
	I had a FW13 screen fail right out of the box, i had to send multi photos of every single side of the laptop AT different angles. when i worked at big box TV company we usually only need one or two photos where non of the sides were cropped out. and replies between emails asking for more photos could take a day or two or three.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	also open source bios isn't looking too likely any time soon but, in years.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I’d also like to say that i hear System76 has been making strides to hep board level repair for their units and sell parts needed to do repairs from what i hear.

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	Since the Acer Predator 21X is pretty much extinct, I thought, I share what it's like having it and post about it. A lot of people didn't like it because it was BGA. but it's still nice seeing this machine because even by today's standards it still can play games wonderfully. It's obviously way out of league when it comes to my brother's Area 51m but as the saying goes old is gold.

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I’m from Turkey and I’m planning to sell my current laptop. <br />
	I came across a few local buyback platforms, and one of the names I saw was CihazSat.com, but I have never used any of these services before.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone here sold a laptop in Turkey or used any similar buyback services?<br />
	Any recommendations or things I should be careful about?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance!

	Lately I’ve been debating between keeping my current notebook or jumping to something newer. My machine runs fine, but sometimes I feel things slow down and more RAM would be nice, or I eye an OLED screen and wonder how my nighttime routine of watching Netflix will be more enjoyable.<br />
	<br />
	I've been looking at new laptops on <a href="https://www.notebookcheck.net/" rel="external nofollow">NotebookCheck reviews</a> and <a href="http://comparelaptopprices.com" rel="external nofollow">comparing prices on this site </a>to see how price/performance lines up to see if an upgrade is actually worth it, but I'd like your thoughts too.<br />
	<br />
	Do you wait for a specific feature jump (new CPU gen, better displays), or just ride your current notebook until it starts choking?

	Hello! I'm an old guy, and so is pretty much everything I own. Anyway I have an old Inspiron 6420 laptop and I need an Inspiron 6420 laptop I need to get a replacement charging cord. I order one on Amazon that was supposed to work but it has a flat little USB connector at the end of the charging cord. The one on the back of my laptop is round, and it's got some kind of pin connectors (I think two or three) that the charging cord plug end must have.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I know it's an old laptop, but I'm disabled and my wife and I are seniors on a very fixed/tight income, so getting a new laptop is out of the question. I need my laptop going because there's important information on it and the battery is dead.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Anyone here got any suggestions on where to get a new ac charging cord - that is the correct one? When you look online, none of the charging cords advertised give you a look INSIDE of the round charging cord connector (which I believe is 2 or 3 pins). Does anyone here have an old Inspiron laptop like mine, that could post a picture of the inside of the round plug (that goes into the back of the laptop).
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance to all who offer help and advice!!!

	I have an oldish chromebook. Im not too sure how to find the model number since there are multiple ways ive seen after looking online, but im pretty sure I have a "3110 2in1" dell chromebook as it says that in the bottom.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This is a school issued chromebook, and im graduating middle school a few weeks. Ive had some old photos on my chromebook that were stored locally, but about 7 months to a year ago, I permanently deleted them, and would like to know if there was any way to get them back?
</p>

<p>
	After looking online some people said it could be possible using linux, some said it wasnt possible at all, due to chromebooks not having a system like windows to recover permanently deleted files. Id like to know, is it a 100% <strong>guarentee</strong> that they are gone <strong>forever?</strong>

	just as the tittle says. if you could choose when would you have like to be born.
</p>

<p>
	i think i am in the right time. because i watched how the world has evolved.
</p>

<p>
	like video games not sure what a kid that was born 10 years ago feel about games.
</p>

<p>
	that i mean was i watched evolved from the atari 2600 like basketball game the person was just like made out of 3-4 lines. to now be able to acturally see their shoes in great detail. i think you appreaciate more hhow games evolved.
</p>

<p>
	new technology was coming out and that was exciting.
</p>

<p>
	and also i can say i lived when there was no cell phones.. i was out playing with friends. you had to go to their houses if wanted to talk to them.
</p>

<p>
	theres this time where i would of also liked if i had live like in the western era. in the 50's too
</p>

<p>
	i was born in the late 70's and love it.. but i also think about how things would be in the future with technology how far we would get as human species.
</p>

<p>
	whats yours.?

<p>
	I have to say it is a nice step up as well as having the extra outputs and was worth it.

	I have been reading, looking, playing with demos etc.  Looking for something to replace my 5406. I have come to the conclusion that nothing will fit me better than this notebook for the foreseeable future.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I use it every day and love the features of it, the speed of it for doing my work etc. In real world testing, my dell is just as fast as the M1 series apple at doing creative work (plenty fast).  It has a great keybord for writing articles, books, etc. and the screen is nice, bright and has great color renditions, (contrary to popular tests).  I have my color calibrated using a spider 3 and it prints what I see.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The only place it's lagging is doing video work. While it gets the job done, it's a bit slow on the export etc. Enter the Pocket Ai RTX 500 eGPU.  It's a super portable eGPU that connects to the laptop and increases it's graphics processing power by approx. 50 percent to 60 percent, using the notebook's display. I have read tests and for example, playing certain games, the frame rate goes from 20-25 fps to 80-95 fps.  That's a good jump in performance.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I wil be ordering this unit instead of replacing my entire PC. It's a much more affordable option and there is nothing out there that I feel would suit me as well as my dell.

	So I have just started using windows 11 for the first time while testing some new notebooks, and overall I prefer the layout and efficiency of Windows 10 (with 7 style built-in implementations) over 11.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	11 seems to look prettier but having to make extra clicks or typing to get to things
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Couple things I am looking for
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	- Traditional start menu
</p>

<p>
	- Quick launch bar
</p>

<p>
	- Ability to not-combine labels for faster switching and visible title content of each active tab in each browser
</p>

<p>
	- Small icon on task bar to shrink overall size of task bar
</p>

<p>
	- Traditional right-click menu without icons and all the options, rather
</p>

<p>
	- This PC (cannot be locked to the task bar?) so I have to click folder, then click this PC in order to jump to that menu.
</p>

<p>
	- Rich text documents?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I haven't seen many complaints about these, so maybe I just don't know how to access them, or I am one of the last hold outs to use them.
</p>

<p>
	I have seen a couple of applications to mimic the function, but is this all unavailable in Windows 11?
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	Again I have not used 11 enough to rate it overall, but it seems like it is supposed to look more like Mac OS, looses some functionality.

</p>

<p>
	say if the max temp is 90C and i overclock it but keep it at 65C would that wear the GPU down.

<p>
	i think i already had asked long time ago. am started to play some games and i must lower resolution tpo 720p and lowered graphics.

	Presenting: <a href="https://www.nbrchive.net/" rel="external nofollow">NBRCHIVE</a> — a static, read-only archive of the NotebookReview forum.  (<u>Super early version</u>.)
</p>

<p>
	Along with myself, <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/96-sandy-bridge/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="96" href="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/96-sandy-bridge/" rel="">@Sandy Bridge</a>, <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/55-reciever/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="55" href="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/55-reciever/" rel="">@Reciever</a>, and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/1-hiew/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="1" href="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/1-hiew/" rel="">@Hiew</a> have been involved in this project.  <span>I'll give extra props to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/96-sandy-bridge/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="96" href="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/96-sandy-bridge/" rel="">@Sandy Bridge</a> who brought along a tool specifically designed to pull data from XenForo forums.  Without that, we would have been basically left with HTTrack, which takes way longer... and much less of the forum would have been able to have been archived with the level of resources that we have.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	We've been working over the past few days to grab as much as possible.  We have not yet captured every single post, but we have hit the areas that appeared to be of the most value and also areas that were requested by other NBR users.  (We are actually still actively pulling down content and will continue until NBR shuts down.)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm still working to tie everything together and I will edit this post with updates as new sections are hooked in.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This was a quick and dirty job, to some degree.  TechTarget didn't give us that much time, and their web application firewall which starts throwing errors if you download too many pages too quickly also slowed down progress.  For some forums, we only pulled threads with a certain number of posts (varying from forum to forum) and excluded the smaller threads.  Also, I wanted to get something live for everyone as quickly as possible and I'm still working through cleaning some stuff up.  You may see oddities while browsing threads — missing images, links from one thread to another not going to the right place, and maybe even a small number of threads that are cut off or otherwise "damaged".
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	There are some known but fixable issues that will be addressed over the coming days and weeks.  Threads downloaded with the XenForo archiver tool are not paginated, so your browser might choke on very long threads.  (Internet Explorer seems to handle these the best, if you can believe it.)  The Dell business laptops section (pulled via HTTrack) also has issues with some attachments and the "up arrow" link next to quotes, and it's still trying to pull a few files from the live NBR server when you view one of these threads.  If you see anything else odd that seems like it could be fixed, feel free to let me know.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Bear with me as I work to integrate all of the downloaded threads into a cohesive archive.  I'm working on a simple tool to link threads downloaded by <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/96-sandy-bridge/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="96" href="https://notebooktalk.net/profile/96-sandy-bridge/" rel="">@Sandy Bridge</a>'s tool into the forum/thread list that I grabbed with HTTrack.  This project is dealing with literally millions of tiny files so there is also some just waiting for stuff to be transferred around as I get it all prepped for hosting.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	When the integrated archive is ready, any threads that were not pulled down before the cutoff will still be present in the list.  I will have them point to archive.org, which hopefully has a record of most of the threads.  Also, I'm going to see about changing the top-right search function (currently pointing to "live" NBR) to just perform a Google site search.  I will also clean up the presentation somewhat — removing any hint of the ads, non-functional bits like the logon link, and so forth.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I don't think that I should be the sole holder of the archive.  For NBR regulars who would like to download an offline copy, contact me via PM and I will arrange it, once the archive is in just about the best shape that I think that I can get it in.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	If TechTarget issues a takedown request, obviously I will have to comply.  I'm hoping that they will leave it alone.  I'm hosting the archive at my own expense; there are no ads and I am not taking donations.  By taking the forum offline, they are not in a position to profit off of the material anymore, so it might as well be made available.
