At least the E-cores are very useful for system usage and multitasking and productivity Dunno what the benefit of them CCX is outside of AMD wallet -

Bigger number is obviously better number *nods in culture* Next time I reboot I'll see how high the numbers in the BIOS go for RAM OCing, I thought they ended at about 7200 but I can't be sure anymore. I'll DM you! -

Ha, I don't even think my board would let me boot that high. Pretty sure it tops out around 7200MHz On the other hand feel free to toss any 6400, 6800 or 7200MHz kits y'all got collecting dust at me *nods* -

Well it was a simple matter of if draw less power it generally easier to cool, since my undervolted 13600K pulled 150W in CB R23. I know R23 and 2024 doesn't correlate, but that's why I wanted to see power draws, and was hopeful seeing a max power draw of 107W for essentially the same perf that 200W gets last gen. Which would be a nice miracle Edit: Seems it was but wishful thinking according to the GN benches. 13600k for life it is -

What interested me about that user's 14700K on the last page was he managed to complete CB 2024 at stock speeds and his CPU only drew 107W I'd like to know for anyone changing from 13th gen to 14th gen if the 14th gen products use less power or are easier to cool out the box, because that would solidify my desire for a 14700K at some point in the future. 8P cores and 12 E cores would be more than enough, and should be reasonably easy to cool if the rumors are true. I'm not really looking for maximum OCing here, but rather comfortable usage with enough power to handle anything thrown at it. Maybe a modest OC, etc. -

This is sad, but truthfully I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, since this system was pretty much help from my best friend. It runs fine now and I don't need a whole lot out of it that it isn't doing, I just noticed the BIOS was kind of meh. Especially since I'm accustomed to a BIOS doing what I tell it to do with my last two systems being Prema modded. If I undervolt -50mV on this chip and I undervolt -100mV on this chip there is no difference in temperature or power draw. I realized that it only actually sees -100mV increments for voltage offset to the CPU, and doesn't even let me type anything less than 50mV increments. Stuff like that. Like yes fine I'll make do with what I have and whatnot but it felt weird since I was all geared up for the ASUS experience here haha. I searched my system for armory crate and couldn't find anything. I vaguely remember manually downloading all drivers from the ASUS website when I installed the machine, so that probably explains it. As for the myasus toggle I'll look for it when I next reboot! -

Sounds good to my lazy side, no BIOS updates for me, I can live with the ever so slight clockspeed reduction of 12MHz The last thing I wanted was to see if this RAM would boot at 6400MHz but I think I'll deal with that much later. The only thing I think I would need a BIOS update for on this board would be if I ever shove a 14700K in it, which I think is probably the end goal CPU for this system in the future. 8 P cores is enough and I already think 8 E cores is enough too, so if 14th gen is easier to cool like I've been hearing rumors of, I'll be happy with that and won't need an i9. Especially if I get my hands on a Thermalright Frost Commander 140. I could easily sell the AK 620 to a friend. As for the BIOS, ever since I installed the OS, windows has said there's an optional update - BIOS present. Never bothered with it, don't know if there is one on the website, don't use MyAsus anything, and... what is armory crate again? Whatever that is, it doesn't show up when I search for it on my computer -

Windows says there's a BIOS update for my board, I guess I should try updating the BIOS and seeing if it shows up then. I guess I'll take a picture of my CPU fan curve and the like and try it later this weekend. I wasn't gonna update because what wasn't broke I shouldn't fix, but, oh well. I thought I was probably on the latest BIOS since it supported the 13600K plug and play, but I suppose there was more -

Well apparently my BIOS lacks it as an option entirely, as you can see with the search function below and -

Sure I can go look, if you know where it is on an ASUS BIOS that'll be helpful. Does it otherwise do anything? -

Okay I have a solid question here... am I doing something wrong? My bclk just won't sit at 100MHz even if I set it above 100MHz. I just want that nice, flush 5.2GHz showing up -

Ah I wanna pop in on this, they only make AMD cards but Sapphire is such an excellent company that they make EVGA look average by comparison. The MILLISECOND they start making Nvidia GPUs (which I highly doubt) I will instantaneously no longer consider any other Nvidia GPU manufacturer to exist -

Yeah, I think the 4070 is in a solid place now, as you can get quite decent cards in their line for $550 or a bit less. 4070Ti is overpriced, and so is 4080. 4090 is just a beast of a card and I guess you could argue it's worth it, but the rest of their line is so silly. If they'd sell the 4070Ti for $700 we'd be getting somewhere -

I saw them crashing at +90MHz on core and 700MHz on memory. My daily driver is +175MHz core and +1100MHz memory. -

Oh yes I will do that, I forgot. I was just looking at a video of gamer's nexus overclocking 3080s and I'm starting to be in disbelief at my card's daily driver settings. Sure, I will float around and such. -

Don't you know? We're all supposed to have i9-16900KS chips at 8GHz or R7 9960X3Ds at 7GHz along with 6090Tis and RX 9900XXTXTXX cards to run it at 1440p 144fps without FSR 2, it's not their fault that we don't have time machines to get them right away! Their game is optimized, they PROMISE! That's why it runs worse than while also looking worse than Cyberpunk 2077 which came out 3 years ago. Also, fixed your typo. Lots of people forget their name is Bugthesda and misspell it by saying "Bethesda". Did you miss me, Papusan? -

yes, I didn't remember the forum and NBR had closed, but Mr. Fox gave me the link earlier today after I saw one of his videos on youtube. So hello, apparently I am an overclocker now -

So, in a completely unlike me turn of events, my first post here is to drop a benchmark result! I'm also actually on a desktop as of this year =O I gots this Time Spy result earlier https://www.3dmark.com/spy/42181815 And we got a picture for proof And apparently, this somehow makes me a grand total of rank 6th in the world for this hardware combination! Yay! @Mr. Foxhere are you proud? I actually benchmarked xD This is with a Founder's Edition 3080 btw, stock vBIOS and stock cooler
