If I want to be technical, bought a 24" Samsung 1080p panel for my secondary screen and it's treating me well so far. But the one I'm most proud of? Partner and I finished purchasing our flat (outright) and now we only have like 250€ a month in utilities (including internet) and a grocery bill to worry about, so I'm just happy I have my own office (she is too, was an issue at our old place) and a place to work on stuff.

Current issue is managing to go out and get groceries when my girlfriend is out of town without delivery (language barrier issue). Sunlight tends to flare up my lupus and I asked if I could walk with her to go to the local Mercadona (like 1km from our flat) and she wants to make sure I reduce my flare ups. Currently we're both stressed out for separate reasons, but just managing life is the main thing. The main concern is flare-ups cause issues with my skin and joints, but the worst of it happens to my lungs (almost like a bronchitis-type deal), so minimizing that is really the best I can do; at least our balcony has a top cover to it! For now I'm just lucky if I can be on my computer for more than a few hours at a time, so I can't complain too much.

Is it something similar to a cross-country move? I absolutely HATED moving across Spain, but it was more than worth it to own a place that's rather comfortable and really nice.

Wonder how much it is to ship a Pinephone here to Spain. I don't use my phone much other than YT and some messaging, so Linux on a phone becomes more and more appealing by the day.

Was off-site for two months due to a long move, but the first games I booted up were Etterna, PSO2 New Genesis, and (oh boy) Battlefield 2042. Somehow the latter of the three is still meh, but I guess it's an improvement? PSO2 is gonna be torture to grind the new weapon out, but I really hope my drop luck is okay enough so I can work towards it. Etterna is a rhythm game. Slightly rusted but still not bad.

I'm not aiming for a gaming secondary since it'd serve other purposes (namely for chat clients, OBS and the sort). Plus I don't know if you're talking in USD or EUR, since PC things in general here in Spain are a bit higher in cost.

Do you have any idea what the price it's going for right now? I'm actually in the middle of moving and aiming to get a secondary, but I'm unsure what pricing is, and I do need to find a secondary. Probably won't happen until June.

Got a Huawei Matebook D14 yesterday as my Thinkpad gave the ghost up (it was in super rough shape) and despite the same specs, seems to run a lot faster. It's also a lot smaller so it's good for my backpack. Not a bad investment for around 370€ roughly.

My partner and I just reserved a flat that we're preparing to buy, and we're hopefully going to end up with gigabit internet, which I'm super excited for given that I haven't had it in quite a bit. Here's hoping it all goes well!

Been trying to not burn myself out on anything, so I tried 2042 again, and was disappointed YET AGAIN. Also, I gotta do the last part of PSO2NGS' spring event, so that's something.

For the most part they're being rather flakey because my partner and I are disabled and don't work, but have more than enough savings; to them they only want someone who works a whatever hour job. Eh, but we decided we're just gonna buy a place instead, it's easier.

Woo hoo, third addition of mine to this thread. People who own the flat we were looking at renting basically turned us away because they want us to rent for 5 years; so now we're looking at other options. I'm absolutely frustrated, especially because I only have a month before I absolutely have to have my residency permit.

We tried chicken burgers a few days ago and it happened to be really, REALLY good. I'll never get sick of her cooking, it's so freakin' good.

How to make me miss playing Infinite Warfare in a single screenshot. I put more time into that game than I care to admit, but it was kind of a guilty pleasure.

Does taking public transit count? Because I don't drive, but the public transit where I live is pretty heckin' good.

Left arm and hand are getting weaker with more pain in them; condition is starting to deteriorate a bit more and I'm not sure when I'll get to a doctor, but it should be soon.

Got a steal on a desktop from IbericaVIP here because I needed a new system; it's being delivered tomorrow alongside this monitor I'll be maining. Got lucky with the desktop pricing and being able to get it. Am very excited to torture myself try Battlefield 2042 again and maybe get some extra performance out of some other games I play. Hope the system lasts me for a while.

I'm making this thread to discuss what monitor you might be using and why you picked it, whether it be productivity, gaming, Discord, or some doomscrolling on various social media. I'll go ahead and start with mine. I currently am using an Asus VG27AQ I got for about 285€, and a few things made me choose it. Being a rhythm game player, my thing is high refresh rate, low latency, and also readability; this was an easy choice to go with, as I left all of the monitors I owned prior to moving across the Atlantic. I also got biased rather quickly towards 1440p after using my Maingear Vector Pro for some time; it was honestly nice to have that pixel density.

Unsure, mainly because I currently don't have two GPUs and my new system doesn't arrive until tomorrow; but honestly, who knows. They claimed they've allowed it to work via some emails I saw on Reddit, but take this with a grain of salt. I haven't done too much with VFIO and not sure if I'll get around to it unless I get a cheap GPU to toss in (1200w power supply is convenient for this). I'd be willing to test as soon as I have an opportunity.

I got something super simple for the moment, but it's what was had when I moved here. ISP: Vodafone ES (from ONO) (300/300) Router: some old Netgear one that's being replaced after I move. After moving, options will be weighed; more likely than not, if it's available we'll get gigabit through Adamo, otherwise we'll have to search. there's an ISP here in Spain named PepePhone and I want them purely for the name, don't tell anyone

How many spinning hard drives do you have in your desktop?

This is about to become two; new system has a 2TB Seagate Barracuda for excess storage and I'm tossing in a spare 3TB one as well, which basically is a Linux storage drive. Desktop config is gonna be fun.
