  1. i finally got a business rep for B2B a while ago. Thing have been humming along with my guinea-pig department. knock on wood. They have also become more transparent with their youtube channel. Why a fully open source bios isn't here and will be a long term thing was a great discussion they had with one of thier bios engineers. They are linux friendly. also still one of the only upgrdable laptops on the market. they do lack touch screen for the 16"

    2FA

The 2FA says google authenticator but it works other authenticators, it should just say "Authenticator". P.S.: also if you're really really cool direct security key support would be baller. es[specially if it could passwordless.
  4. or do think it is in a hard spot to cool or fit a heat sink or heat pipe too?
  5. will be seeing some posts on custom heatsinks?
  6. nvidia sux, mxm is hard to get, i guess there is them framework 16???
  7. we got a business rep finally a little while back, support is getting a little easier on the business side, i think. i'm curious to see how future gpu support goes for the fw16. id like to see an fw17 or fw18
  8. quadro also has error correcting ram and tends to run games a little slower. are you all using quadros or is there some magic gpu fairy? because i'm only seeing quadros on ebay???
  9. they are listing the rtx 5000 as an rtx quadro, Quadro RTX 5000 16GB MXM3.0 Video Card DAXW3UB7CA0 for HP ZBook 17 G6 i dont think there is an rtx 5000 non quadro. perhaps the rtx 3000 series alone is the rtx 2000 series? but, perhaps the 3000 is mid range and 5000 is top range and it's up to buyer to figure out the gpu architecture? it all seems so confusing right now also just looking around the clevo cards require a power cable, granted yall said somewhere on these forums that they are all wildy shapen and proprietary or extra large.
  10. any posted pics of making a cooler?
  11. so if i double the cooling capacity no biggie then? or i wonder if the CPU will just run 100% all the time with an SSD raid and an RTX 2000 series GPU. i do have plans for substantial cooling capacity upgrades. EDIT: i also see 2TB mSata SSDs area thing but, all off brands
  12. well then i can just add storage as it's needed then. which would be cheaper. though the kicker is for an OS drive the sata can be 2-4tb in size and install games to the little 1tb msata https://imgur.com/ATVJuMb
  13. i got a 330 and am also looking at doubling the heat size, i may also have a 5 heatpipe cooler around here. anyone know how much an RTX5000 should cost and where to get one? and how much for a 3500 for that matter? wonder if an overclocked ivy bridge can even keep up beyond an rtx3500
  14. ivy bridge is as high as an m17x r4 will go right? as in it won't take a Intel i7 Core 4900 series haswell?
  15. i'm guessing a 115 watts is a shit ton for a laptop? https://www.pcpsol.com/en/product_detail.php?id=225&cid=92&page=1 https://www.pcpsol.com/en/product_detail.php?id=230&cid=92&page=1 Not that i don't have some dumb ideas for portable desktop chonk EDIT: does anyone even know what the A15 bios even offers? i assume it's the Meltdown exploit patches which cost performance on some operations.
