Hey!, fellow M2010 Owner here!
I Purchased one fairly recently, last year or so and she's a bit of a fixer upper i'll admit having been allegedly "Dropped" by the previous owner, the hinges were destroyed so i obtained a replacement LCD assembly and fitted it, now i'm down to dealing with the fact it' won't POST,
i am aware the ATI X1800 Series GPUs fail like flies in these, however after cannibalising a Dell latitude D810 for it's video card (and discovering the display connectors don't fit) i found out mine still does not POST, and i am starting to think the GPU is fine and my motherboard is broken,
i still have my old LCD assembly with cable if it could be any use to the development of some sort of M2010 to old school GPU adapter mod or cable, i would like to get mine to be a little more reliable, perhaps at the sacrifiece of performance as i REALLY do not need mine to be a powerhouse.
another thing that goes on these quite regularly is the Gear inside the DVD Drive raising mechanism, i have the Pieces of mine and plan to extrude a 2D image into some sort of 3D Printable STL file for others to use.
Hopefully i can be of assistance in some way shape or form.
