  1. After using my Pro Max 16 Plus for several weeks, I am disappointed by the performance. The 175W TGP on the RTX 5000 Pro is only sustainable for short periods of time. Under sustained heavy load it will thermal throttle to around 115W, which perhaps not coincidentally, is what hwmonitor reports as the base TGP.
  2. I have the Pro Max 16 Plus which came with a Gen5 drive. Something I discovered by moving the drive around is that one of the NVMe slots is faster than the other two. Physically it's numbered as the second slot although it's numbered as 1 in the UEFI since the UEFI numbering starts at 0. The included drive, which is a Samsung PM9E1, will reach 14500 MB/s in that slot but only around 12500-13000 in the other two.
  3. I acquired a Dell Pro Max 16 Plus as an impulse purchase and I'm debating whether that was a mistake or not. Unfortunately, I did a clean install of Windows before doing much check out of the factory configuration. For those running the factory install of Windows, I'm trying to determine: Whether the internal display (4K OLED) supports VRR when the dGPU is driving it because I only see VRR as supported when using the iGPU Whether "Dolby Atmos for Speakers" is a selectable spatial sound option for the Cirrus Logic XU sound device Any help is appreciated.
