I live in a city in Texas that's supposed to be one of the best places to observe the eclipse in the state. City officials have been telling us to get groceries early, and make sure our cars are full of gas. They're expecting between 122,000 to 500,000 people to be here for the eclipse. Some of the highways into town are going to be one way only. The state highway department is already putting up traffic signs. Our normal population is slightly less than 25,000. Officials are expecting stores and gas stations to be out of product, and it will take days to get trucks into town to restock. I've heard the high school is selling parking spaces in the school parking lots, and has sold out. All local schools are closed. But our weather forecast for Monday is mostly cloudy with a chance of storms, so that might keep people away.
