  1. I have news, very good ones, the P5000 arrived, i filed the radiator a bit more after i dremeled it yesterday, i put it in, and half-assembled the upper half of laptop. I got into Linux Mint 18.3 and it saw the gpu, with ./nvflash --list then i flashed the vbios just like DynamiteZerg did in 2018 and after the reboot it went straight into Windows10. After some fighting with NVCleaninstall i present you another example of P5000 working in Dell Precision M6800 I want to thank everyone for the provided help, will post some updates later after i reassemble the laptop fully and test it in some benchmarks.
  2. to flash the ES bios for P5000? doesnt linux mint 18.3 with nvflash work? or for the overclocking? Thank you i will definietly do that, i do need to connect external keyboard for that correct?
  3. Thanks a lot, will post more updates when i get the gpu. What utility? how would i do that?
  4. Oh, so the ACPI Error is on Pascal regardless of the display type. I have 2 vBios'es to work with, one from Techpowerup archive and engineerng sample one from here.
  5. Okay i think i have good news, i disassembled the laptop, took out the heatsinks(to dremel tomorrow) and my K4100 gpu(dell service tag component site lied about that too i guess), after that i saw some suspicious looking cable labeled eDP going from my screen into the mobo, i pulled it out and it goes into the JEDP1, so i guess i do have eDP and Dell service code components page lied to me. Is that good news? should the P5000 (which is already on the way) work even better now? (here is my board model if thats maybe revelant at all)
  6. Iam replacing old K3100, i bet these pads are quite not good, i want to have a good heat transfer on the P5000, i was looking at 0.2mm high PTM7950 from Honeywell, they should be alright, right?
  7. Iam set on getting the P5000 for my M6800, only picture i seen with new thermal pads is this one using AMD heatsink, which pads should i order for the nvidia heatsink? how tall should they be?
  8. I found P5000 for ~198USD, the seller has posted GPU-Z and dxdiag screenshots that look very legit and iam considering it, does it run very hot? i would rather have slightly slower but cooler laptop, i will propably buy it, test it and return it if its has a defect or something (Allegro gives you 48hrs to do so)
  9. Thanks for the reply, and yes i did look in almost everything M6800/M6700/M4800 related on the forum, just wanted to be completely sure and start thread of my own journey. Iam fine using linux and the flashing tool, although i did order CH341A with 1.8V adapter in case i need to do some die flashing. I found an offer for P3000 for ~95USD, should i buy that and just go with it? i had a hard time finding any P4000 or RTX 3000's in decent prices (looked on 1688, aliexpress and some Polish sites) I plan to do some light gaming with this beast of an laptop, mostly indie games, i recently bought the new Steam Controller and plan on putting Bazzite on the M6800, does anyone have some experience running it on these ancient platforms?
  10. I work in some medium size corpo and we are doing some big tech upgrade, i managed to get M6800(i7-4810MQ/32GB/K3100M/LVDS) for ~14USD i even already upgraded the wifi chip from Intel 6300 to Intel AC-7260. I want to replace the GPU with something better, looking at some of the older posts i saw that Quadro P4000 is a decent option, question is, how much modifications to the cooler/mount do i need to for it to fit and do i need to flash the vbios using some external tools (CH341A), or maybe someone here has some better option for an upgrade
