@Developer79 It does appear my TM1 does have the PWM header for the 2nd fan already on the motherboard which would be awesome to have. I am going to send you a PM to see about getting that adapter plate from you if possible. Thanks again!

@Developer79 I have a stock P870TM1 with the i7-8086K and SLI GTX 1080s. Looking to make the move over to a single RTX 3080. Do you still supply those adapter that work with the dual vapor chamber? I am interested if so.

@Pfudaniel Just got my Eluktronics THICC-17 with the Prema Bios: 1.07.ELUK1 EC: 1.07ET. I am also looking to swap to the rtx 3080 as well. I've modded a lot of the older clevo's bios and .inf to run other gpus on my older monster laptops. I am not worried about the loss of gsync nor if I have to do a modded .inf please let me know how your 3080 setup goes. Also with the prema bios is there any kind of advantages already to my hand for this upgrade? Let me know how everything goes with you upgrade.

I did a lot of reading before I went with the akitio node titan over the razer core x for a few reasons. They are both very similar but I had read of a lot of issues when using it with the alienware laptops so that is why I choose the akitio. They are both phenomenal products I am really hoping that alienware does release its concept polaris as it would be such an upgrade over the older alienware graphics amplifier. I would of used the amplifier had it had the room to house such large cards without having to cutup or mod its case but the pcie bandwidth would be so much better using that. I guess we will have to see what the future brings to us in hopes of furthering eGPU use on our machines :).

Well the second motherboard I have gotten has turned to be a bust again.. It boots but only to bios. When loading windows or installing computer looses power at the windows loading logo the the power led flashes green then orange then back solid orange. I believe possibly a faulty EC chip. Wish I had the tools to replace this. These motherboards are near impossible to find.

I personally have the Area-51m and I am currently running an Akitio Node Titan eGPU enclosure with an AMD Sapphire NITRO+ 6900xt with zero issues. Yes there is a bandwidth limitation vs the alienware graphics amplifier however the 6900xt doesn't exactly fit in the AGA. There have been rumors of alienware coming out with a new liquid cooled eGPU enclosure called concept polaris but no word on when it will release. I do plan on switching to the newer 7900xtx when sapphire releases its toxic version in the next month. I can easily play 4k 120hz with asus rog XG438q in HDR. I choose to go with the Akitio Node Titan over the Razer variants and alienware eGPU due to the fact of it having a 650w psu and can fit very large air cooled cards. Hope this information can be useful to you. Driver setup was very easy as well. I am sure you can run a 4090 if you wanted to with this setup you may have to get a different psu of connectors but it is possible. Yea just going to have to keep looking. It appears the Clevo m980nu MoBo will fit however its a CPU downgrade which sucks. Also there is the Clevo P180hm however that motherboard differs a little bit. I hope to be lucky enough to find one soon.

Yes I have tried external displays with no luck. I have not been able to find another x8100 to purchase in North America yet I do check everyday however. Still have not fixed the old girl wishing i could come across some parts for it or someone who is willing to repair the current board.

Well we are in august now and still no luck with finding a motherboard. I haven't been able to get any shops to want to repair it neither. Not to familiar with other clevo gurus but I would like to get this thing up and running. It powers on but the screen does not illuminate at all. All lights come on but also no response from keyboard. Thinking it is possibly SCM related. Any help by chance?

Hey there looking to find a replacement motherboard for my Clevo x8100. Very hard part to find these days specially since we lost notebook review. Any and all help would be great to get this old laptop backup and running. Thanks!
