Code 43

Hello everybody!

I have a M15x that was stored for a few years and wanted to use it for my son's first laptop. I've updated the drivers to 531.18 but getting a code 43 on my GPU within device manager and missing info within GPU-Z. Ever come across this issue or know if a fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I do have have a custom vbios flash so maybe that is the issue? I used svl7's modified vbios (https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/files/file/16-nvidia-gtx-970m-oc-edition-rev0zip/) and never had any issues with it. I lost the original vbios after reinstalling windows 🤦‍♂️

Try using older drivers. MXM GPUs installed in laptops that were never meant to run said GPU don't act well with newer drivers.

If that doesn't work, try flashing a Dell vBIOS to the card, and if that doesn't work, your card is probably on its way out. However, hearing that the card boots normally and still functions without artifacts and crashes shows that it should be a driver or vBIOS problem.

i have got that error on my card reader for more then a year and it turned out to be a driver issue. once i updated the driver with the correct one it disappeared..

as for Nvidia drivers , this is my opinion, i don't ever use the latest driver ... i always use the one before the last ... try the 528.
