Since there's no longer any non-DoD internet connection at my office, I picked up a Netgear Unite Explore AC815S mobile hotspot.

Logitech C920s webcam. My laptop runs with a closed lid 99% of the time and stands behind the external screen. Ever since pandemic started that was my main excuse for not turning on video in calls :classic_laugh: Most of the times it's not an issue, but sometimes I need to turn on the camera and it's annoying to have to disconnect the laptop and take it out. So two years later I thought to myself: "an external webcam it is then" :classic_biggrin:

I used my tax refund and Costco cash back rewards to completely overhauled my computing setup. I picked up a mid-2021 Razer Blade 15 Advanced with QHD G-Sync/Advanced Optimus screen and RTX 3060. While not as powerful as other laptops I've sampled over the last two years, it absolutely nails the balance of performance, portability, and fan behavior/acoustics. I wouldn't have considered it in the first place, but MicroCenter had this model on clearance for $1600, so even factoring in the cost of a two-year in-house extended warranty, it was still significantly cheaper than if I were to have ordered it from Best Buy or B&H. I found a spare 230W charger on fleBay for $75 so now I can keep one in my backpack at all times and the other at my desk. To keep all my peripherals in the same ecosystem, I bought a Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro (which felt better to my fingers than the standard V3), a BlackWidow Mini Hyperspeed to use on my couch, a Viper Mini mouse for the desk, and a Pro Click Mini for the road.

I also tapped MicroCenter again to replace my desktop. They had a Ryzen 9 5950X machine with an RX 6700 XT, 32 GB of RAM, and 2 TB SSD available as an open box for less than $1900. The only things I don't like about it are that it has Windows 11 (at least it's Pro) an ASRock motherboard, which is a brand I would otherwise boycott because of how they've treated Hardware Unboxed and Gamers' Nexus. Still, this thing is stupidly fast and should last me a good long while. I was thinking of replacing the 6700 XT with either a 6800 or 6900 XT, but with the rumors of new GPUs coming later this year, I figured it would be better to wait.

Lastly, I swapped my old 4K/120 Hz monitor for the 1440p/165 Hz MSI MAG274QRF-QD. The MSI feels notably faster and smoother. I like that it has a USB-C connector that supports DisplayPort-Alt mode so I can use G-Sync with the laptop while having the full 48-165 Hz FreeSync range available to my desktop instead of needing to use HDMI, which only goes up to 144 Hz. The stand is also far more compact so I can have the display a little farther away and my mouse and keyboard in a more comfortable position.

I'd say they do!

As for my last purchase, I bought an iMac!  I kind of regretted selling my Mac mini once I returned to my office and have wanted an iMac since the Apple Silicon models were announced, so I got a pink base model.image.thumb.png.1bdc7bb98477863201173aa786e54ef4.png

Bought a couple patio chairs for my new-to-me apartment's balcony, with warmer weather arriving.  It's amazing the range of price points that are available for patio furniture.  It's almost as wide of a range as for microprocessors.  I went with the equivalent of the Pentium, more comfortable and less likely to blow away in the wind than the Celeron, but a much better value than the Core i7 fancy models that they put near the front of the store.

(Celeron patio chair = plastic, $12.  Pentium = steel frame + fabric, $24.  Core i7 = all sorts of nicer materials, cushions that can withstand a rain storm, larger armrests, $400)

Got a steal on a desktop from IbericaVIP here because I needed a new system; it's being delivered tomorrow alongside this monitor I'll be maining. Got lucky with the desktop pricing and being able to get it. Am very excited to torture myself try Battlefield 2042 again and maybe get some extra performance out of some other games I play. Hope the system lasts me for a while.

What about painting it by your own pink (🤮)<- just a joke but painting it yourself is serious doing this a long time ago with my Silverstone Raven 01 (black) Case.

Have been using the regular S7 version since it came out and absolutely enjoy it for media/reading/etc. Very nice battery life also.

My only complaint is that it doesn't seem very popular with modders, so very limited options when it comes to custom ROMs, root, etc.

OK I got my ipad today.

1) great screen (colors and accuracy)

2) battery life I used it for youtube and other videos and got 4 hours 25 min with 72 percent left so i would say fairly heavy usage with screen brightness pretty high

hard to believe this thing can get 16 hours of video play back. I usually own android tablets and I have never experienced anything like this before heavy video usage and it estimates 16 hours total screen on time, absolutely shocked.

3) speakers are said to be bad, I found them good for a tablet, not as loud as my s21 ultra but they are clear with some lows and sound good..id say 7 or 8 out of 10. 10 being s22 ultras speakers

4) price something this good can be had for 329 usd or 429 cad.....un believeable deal

Overall im happy with it and its a monster when it comes to games, I honestly think the 13 bionic is good enough and M1 is completely overkill and unessessary. I said Its a monster at games because the gpu score in antutu is just as good as the snapdragon 888(s21)
