Yeah, only be careful when removing the heatsink, too much pressure or strain and you can damage the cpu or gpu

I am using it with one 1 tb SSD as a system drive with two more 4tb SSD as a storages . Also often I am connecting external HDD 5 tb each ( some times two or three ) . I do not have an issues with the sound or with shut downs .

I have been using TG Kryosheet chips for some time, both on CPU and GPU surfaces. It worked for me!

 

In principle, this does not dry!☝️🤗🙃

I have found that removing a heatsink when it is still relatively warm is easier. So now when I have to do that with a socketed system I just heat up the CPU and GPU and then it is much easier to get the heat sink off.

It worked perfectly for me. In the case of a normal laptop, this option is not available because the cooler mount does not exert enough force and the Kryosheet does not fit snugly, thus there is no proper heat transfer. This is still good and available in the case of DTR Clevo.😋

correct, some applied heat will soften pcm and then you're good to go, could also use a hair dryer on it, few seconds will suffice

My friend sold me this laptop for a bargain price. The only issue he told me is frequent lags when playing games. I found out that there is thermal throttling from the CPU. I re-pasted and replaced the thermal pads then tightened up all the mounting screws and checked for uneven surfaces when mounting the HSF.

 

So far so good, no thermal issue for one week now. My only complaint, this laptop is like riding a vacuum cleaner when in heavy load!

 

For those of you guys planning to replace the thermal pads, I labeled the thickness. Hope we have the same heatsink.

I used Gelid GP-Ultimate and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme.

thank you for that chart, I personally gave up trying to find out a damn thermal pad for vram chips that wouldn't thermal throttle my gpu, so now I'm going with a good putty on caps, vram, vrms, mosfets, everything.

 

Would you be able to check the orientation and position of the big thermal pad that sits under the mxm gpu? thank you

Sorry bro, I already closed the cover a week ago. Anyway, I think those pads underneath are just support cushions, there is no metal to transfer and dissipate the heat (correct me if I'm wrong). Same as the M.2 that was installed when I got it where there are thick thermal pads below but no controller parts to cover.

You are correct. The pad links 2 pcbs.

The m.2s however, I got some heatsinks from the same hybrid watercooler heatsink source.

 

As for your temperature and noise endeavor, I highly suggest cpu delid ptm 7950 and some taobao fans which imo work great and are less noisy.

I use Kryosheet now for over a year in my X170KM-G (CPU and GPU) and its complete stable compared to paste. Paste are good in the first months and than its getting bad. Kryosheet performed as at the first day.

And my X170KM-G runs around 14 to 16 hours every day.

theres no risk of this like there is with liquid metal right? just set it and forget it? ill probably get a tiny thing of kryonaut just to hold it in place at the corners

There's no problem with that. Clean the surface, then place the Kryosheet tiles, then attach the cooler and use the machine.😝

If it is installed correctly, it should not cause any problems. You have to pay attention to it while putting it on and there is no problem.👏😌
