KabyZen
Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my KM1 heatsink to a TM1. Anyone have a CPU bracket they are willing to part with? I would really like to avoid sawing off standoffs if I can avoid it.

I talked to upgradeyourlaptop (which I think is Eurocom on Ebay, not sure though) and they said they did have some of the TM backplates. They didn't give me a price as I cannot buy one right now, but they told me they have some in stock. Message them saying someone else who has talked to them about the backplates recently sent you so they aren't confused. Oh right that they did, the parts should be coming Thursday. Decided to get the heatsink/fan and the bracket from them. Thanks for putting me onto them! Now to decide on the date for the operation 🤓. Speaking of which, looking at the screws on my current backplate I assume that I need a torx driver to get them off. Question is which size?

If you have a screw bit set, just eyeball it. I've taken an LGA 1151 mounting bracket off with a very basic bit set. Also, would you mind telling me how much they charged you for the plate? I forgot to ask them. 1 Clevo P870TM-G: Core i7 8700k @ 4.8ghz | Clevo RTX 2070 Super | 32gb HyperX DDR4 @ 3200mhz | 17" 1440p 120hz B173QTN01.0 Screen | 256gb Samsung 850 EVO | 500gb WD Blue SSD | Prema BIOS Alienware 17 R1: Core i7 4710mq @ 3.619ghz 741 CBR15 (834 CBR15 @ 4.213ghz) | Dell GTX 860m | 16gb HyperX DDR3L @ 2133mhz | 17" 3D 120hz LTN173HT02-T01 Screen | 256gb mSATA SSD Asus Zephyrus G14: Ryzen 7 4800hs @ 4.2ghz | GTX 1650 | 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz | 14" 120hz LM140LF1F01 Screen | 512gb NVME SSD

I would go with a hair dryer, Maytee used one in his old thread and said it worked fine, just be sure to keep moving it around a bit as to not overheat other things on the motherboard. 1 Clevo P870TM-G: Core i7 8700k @ 4.8ghz | Clevo RTX 2070 Super | 32gb HyperX DDR4 @ 3200mhz | 17" 1440p 120hz B173QTN01.0 Screen | 256gb Samsung 850 EVO | 500gb WD Blue SSD | Prema BIOS Alienware 17 R1: Core i7 4710mq @ 3.619ghz 741 CBR15 (834 CBR15 @ 4.213ghz) | Dell GTX 860m | 16gb HyperX DDR3L @ 2133mhz | 17" 3D 120hz LTN173HT02-T01 Screen | 256gb mSATA SSD Asus Zephyrus G14: Ryzen 7 4800hs @ 4.2ghz | GTX 1650 | 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz | 14" 120hz LM140LF1F01 Screen | 512gb NVME SSD

KabyZen
So fun fact: They sent me a KM1 bracket, if they don't have any more TM1s I will have to dremel this one 🤣. How did I luck out on that part number LOL.

KabyZen
Planning to perform the mod this weekend, so we'll see how it all goes. Also your GPU undervolt intrigues me.

Vey important after you cut is to fine sandpaper them on a flat surface to even all the legs out. Check this pic for reference: 2. On the undervolt will come back to you with a screen shot when possible.
