Most domain names are dirt cheap.  We could buy them all for like $100 and then not renew the ones that aren't popular, lol.

Yeah I did that with a few in the past just thought there would be someone in there already or TT would have bought everything close to it to keep copycats out etc

Yeah, large corps will usually do this when they care about competition for a site...or care about the site at all.  TT didn't fall into either of those categories, lol.
