TreeTopsRanch
My ISP supplied gigabyte router is locked by design. (I can't make any changes to the router) I have asked the ISP if I could supply my own router and they replied; yes. (That would also same me a monthly fee that the ISP charges me for their router) So... any recommendations? I want future proof for at least 5 years if possible so that I don't have to buy another for that long. I can afford up to $300 or so. We need long range to reach our stable which is about 500 feet from the home.
Custom90gt
Are you looking for a modem or a router (most likely both)? Is your ISP cable? They usually charge you for the modem and they supply one with built in wireless routing... TreeTopsRanch
My fiber ISP provides the modem. It's a separate little box with three led's.
