Here is a list of all of the Alienware unlocked BIOS' for laptops that I had saved. All credit goes to their original owners. Flash at your own risk.

Do NOT post these links elsewhere. If you want to share this publicly, upload the file yourself to your preferred sharing site. I'm missing AW14 A09 unlocked BIOS so if you have it let me know. Otherwise I believe I got the major ones here.

The Alienware m17xr4 which bios is better, A11 unlocked or A15 unlocked? I have A10 installed now but not sure what the difference of the 2 unlocked would provide. I am having no problems and the m17xr4 is running great. But I do have a problem with "If it aint broke dont fix it" I tend to fix it anyway, its fun fixing it after I broke it HA HA HA!

Does anyone know where I can find info on the settings in these unlocked bios and what each setting does, like PCI Express Configuration/ DMI Extended Synch Control/ Disable or Enable or setting the maximum PCI-Express Speed? Or maybe what gen x, Gen 1, or Gen 2 or 3 is? Can any of these settings or others dictate what GPU is usable in the m18xr2 or m17xr4 or any Alienware

I don't think M15x unlocked bios adds anything useful but if someone wants to attach it, I can re-upload it to google drive and add to first post.

I've gone ahead and updated the A13 unlocked bios file to include all needed files for flashing.

As a reminder this bios requires a bootable dos usb.

A bootable dos usb can be created for free using rufus (choose freedos) when formatting usb. Then drag all files from the unlocked folder to the root directory of the usb.

Boot with legacy option rom enabled, select the usb and once dos boots, type in: flash.bat

Before flashing a unlocked bios, you must flash the standard version of that bios from dell's website since a lot of these unlocked bios' only have the bios portion and not the ME.

Example:

M14xR2 is currently on A03 stock

First flash A13 standard from dell support website

Then flash A13 unlocked using dos method

Hey guys @ssj92are you unlocking these bios? If so any luck on the new M18? Im going to try to use RU.EFI to access XMP and undervolt unlock (even thought i read 1.7.0 bios has it unlocked already)

I am not. I did enable XMP and UV since BIOS 1.2.0 using RU.EFI however 1.6.0 enables UV and it looks like 1.7.0 was just released. I haven't tested 1.7.0 yet

Im having a hard time deciding to buy this laptop now as i just read 14th gen is being released in october. though i saw its gonna be 8p cores and 16e cores the core performance is said to hit 6.5ghz and cache size is said to be up to 64mb plus it will be power efficient at 4nm architecture down from 10nm. i got 1 week to make my mind up but if i do im definitely gonna max out. 13980hx with 4090 and 64gb ram. im going to see if i can swap the lcd for the asus nebula 500 nits one. plus i want to change the mouse pad to the rgb one they got on the X16 im going to mod this thing as much as possible. If you do mod 1.7 would you mind sharing it?

Hey guys, looking to see if you could help me troubleshooting what might be happening on my end.

I've got an Alienware 17 R1 with the standard A17 BIOS and Windows 11 with a working Nvidia GTX 765M 2GB. It's the 3D version so it doesn't have an Intel card in this model.

I thought that it'd be good to upgrade the Graphics Cards and got a GTX 870M from what was listed as a Clevo laptop, however when I tried to plug it it, I just get a black screen with 8 beeps and that loop keeps on repeating.

I ended up in the thread when I read that I might need to install an unlocked BIOS?, I tried the one listed above (A17+ Unlocked) but as I'm on Windows 11 it doesn't seem compatible and I get the following error.

Not even sure now if I should try to run this Unlocked BIOS with an Alienware which doesn't have an integrated Intel card either now.

Would you guys know what I could try to have that new GTX 870M recognized and working? Cheers

Ohh and btw, I found out how to flash, but it gives me the 'program cannot be run in dos' what do I do? Tried dddp and freedos, heck, even msdos... on a separate note, my gtx780m is stuck on 5gt/s (pcie 2x 16) how can I fix that, by flashing the unlocked bios?
