I just found the 2080S for a really good price ~ $300 USD, so I wanted to give it a try, especially since I don't need to worry about a different heatsink like I do for the 3070. I also want to do the testing. In my thread (LINK) I am also testing different GPUs, I tested 1060, 1080, now I want to do the 2080S, then 3070. I flash dsanke bios, which ported from p750tm and no freezes, booting normally, recognise as in p775tm - standard Microsoft device, but all scanning programs detected well. I confirm working p750dm2/dm3 with all RTX20XX /Super versions, but need Dsanke bios. Some proof pictures. Custom heatsink system LOL

anassa
Reflashed to the dsanke bios. Used the info from this thread: Flashed the Bios from the file called: P7xxDMx-0729-9900ks-128G Flashed it without any issues, so now I am back to the dsanke bios but still doesn't work. Still a blank screen. I have still one idea left to try, so we will see. Also @kela-slk what display do you have on your P750DM2? anassa
To test to see if there is some other reason, I am going to try the 2080s on a EON15-X (P750DM2) with a 4k panel from Origin, but now I can't flash a different bios. It keeps on giving the "Security Flash Verify Fail" error. I have tried to flash the XMG bios, the dsanke bios, (both that worked on my other P750DM2) and the normal clevo bios. All have the same error. Did Origin do something to block flashing? I use afuwinx64.exe, and tried afudos.exe with usb boot via DOS, but also but that didn't get anywhere either. I "cd" to where the bios.rom file is, then use: afuwinx64.exe BIOS.ROM /X /P /B /N But it just gives the error mentioned above. It has worked fine on my other P750DM2. Actually... I just remembered the other P750DM2 is also an Origin EON15-X. Not sure what is up, now that it doesn't work. Anyone have ideas? I might just have to find the original dsanke post that has instructions Previous lives: D900F / P150HM / P150EM / P870DM2 / X170KM Testing/Backup Rig - P750DM2 - **in process** - *Build Thread* Wife's Daily - P750DM2- 4k Panel / 6700k / 1060 GTX / 64GB DDR4 3200Mhz Corsair Vengeance / 1TB Samsung 970 Plus / 2TB WD Black SN770 / Killer Wifi Self Daily - P750DM2 (2016) - Dsanke BIOS / 8700k (2017) / 2080 RTX (2019) / 64GB DDR4 3200Mhz CL16 Ballistix / ETC Determined to keep the socketed 15.6" laptops alive as long as possible!! anassa
Thanks @kela-slk a bit of a late response - life has been busy, but I never got the 3070 or 2080S to work. I did find a 2080 for cheap that works without any issues. So at the very least I have my daily laptop back! So I am really excited for that. I have a spare P750DM2 that I will play with to get the 3070 up and running. It will eventually go into the wife's laptop as I found a 3080 for myself. I will update once I have the test/spare P750DM2 up and running. Once that is good to go I can swap it over. taiyang
I bumped into a similar issue today. I have a P775DM2-G which ran fine with 9900k and 1070. It has a modded BIOS 1.06.13 by dsanke, and a 330W PSU. I put a 2080 non-s inside with a new heatsink today, and it stuck at the bios logo. Keys were not working so it didn't even get into BIOS. I swapped back the 1070 and then it booted into Win10 right away. I felt it really strange how the BIOS can limit GPU which has its own vBIOS, but this thread somehow convinced me. Is your machining with 2080 running a dsanke bios 1.07.29? taiyang
I just confirmed that with Dsanke bios 1.07.29 migrated from Z370, my P775dm2 with Z170 now works fine with 2080 non-S. Flashing this BIOS 0729 is tricky though. A programmer with a clamp is straight forward, but with software flashing in OS, the laptop needs to be completely cut from any power after flashing, according to Dsanke: http://www.smxdiy.com/thread-3097-1-1.html Clevo P775DM2-G | i9-9900K (-150 mV undervolted) | RTX 2080 MXM3.1b | 330W PSU | TM heatsink with Honeywell PTM 7950-SP | 4x 8GB 2400MHz RAM | 2x 1T Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 1x 2T Samsung 870 EVO | BIOS 1.07.29, migrated from Z370 by Dsanke | Windows 10 Edu
