Inspiron 16-5635 vs Inspiron 15-3535

Hello friends,

I have a budget of $500. I want a light, simple and comfortable laptop for daily work. 99% of the work is done on the web browser.
Any programming, design, etc. heavy programs are not used.
The prices are the same between these two laptops, which one do you recommend to buy?
(or you can offer another model for this price,
I've been using Dell since 2013 and have never had a problem so I looked at Dell)

For a little more, you might want to consider the 15" Vostro. It has a slightly better chassis than the Inspiron, USB-C and a webcam cover.

I would choose the Inspiron 15 3535 and will soon buy it for a family member who only needs web browsing. From researching the prices and performance of many brands I see Dell as giving the best value in hardware performance.

Other brands I see to compare but are much lower in performance power are ASUS Vivobooks & HP's Laptops under $600 and have similar CPU power with single names (Intel Celeron) and not numbers to their name (AMD Ryzen 7 7730U). I don't exactly have a feel for these weaker CPU's on Windows 10 web browsing but don't even want to put them up against Windows 11 as that Operation System is extremely burdensome on cheap hardware. With the progress of browsers and applications hoging more & more resources I wouldn't want something so week looking.

 

The specs of the laptop I'm buying are:

• Operation System: Windows 11 Home, English, French, Spanish
• Realtek 8821 Wireless Driver
• English US non-backlit keyboard

This costs me USD $529, without sales tax on the Dell store website. The MSRP is $699.99 but the discount I got was for USD -$170. Anyways discounts are always present in every manufactures website.

 

What I can say is the only downside of the Dell Insipiron I've notice is the many reviews and consumer comments on other forums about the constant running fan, but I can ignore that.
