Yariko Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I got myself an Alienware X17 R2. In the manual it says you can’t upgrade anything higher than 2TB SSD or 16 RAM. I have got a 2TB SSD, but thought to upgrade with another 4TB Samsung. Also thinking to put in another 16 or 32 Ram module. Would that be possible? https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/de-de/alienware-m17-r2-laptop/alienware-m17r2-setup-specs/storage?guid=guid-05db9429-1e46-40f5-b709-7c66b3324d4e&lang=en-us

Hell I managed to add a 4tb nvme drive to a precision m6800 and that is pretty old these days so you are good to go with that upgrade. The only time where a drive didn't work was due to power consumption more than anything else.
