after the reboot , the laptop seems to work but I got a black screenšŸ˜¬.

what is the solution to reflash with original vbios or workaround to this issue given that I have no display on the lcd panel and hdmi port?

Ā

hi Normaly work the clevo rtx 2080 with a Alienware 200 watt bios but not all HDMI and DP works, one Dp port is working but internal Display it works.

But is the Vbios manipulated !? then you become a Blank screen !!

Flash a Alienware vbios from alieneware mxm card an it works.

The RTX series Card has a Software Protection ! the name isĀ Falcon security ! when eddit bios you became a blank screen..

Ā

also flash a stock bios version....

according to a forum member , my RTX mxm card is not g-sync type and therefore was incompatible with the alienware vbios making a black screen on the internal display.
does theĀ Falcon security allow me to flash back againĀ the original vbios?
do I need a 1.8v programmer ?
any guide to flash with a programmer the RTX bios? thanks

FIXED!!!!

first remove all power source including the battery of the laptop.

use the CH341AĀ programmer with 1.8v adapter (check the picture).

use the soft #neoprogrammer#Ā to flash the vbios and set the IC to the Vbios type model.

clip the bios correctly and make connection.

I flashed with the backup vbios and the screen light up again perfectly

Ā

always backup your original bios, vbios before to flash in case of problem.Ā
I am just sad I can not mod to 200w.....

Ā

hope this topic helps others

  • Kyser777 changed the title to p775 RTX 2080 vbios flashed -> black screen ---FIXED!!!!

@Kyser777Ā I think you can convert your 2080 in to a g-sync one by changing some kind of strap resistor on the board. I think there was a tutorial for this somewhere on the internet.

Clevo P775TM1-G:

Spoiler

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop 16GB (150W, +110MHz Core, +350MHz Mem)

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900KS (5GHz, 4GHz Cache, -130mV, 255A, 200W PL1/2)

RAM: DDR4 32 GB (3333MHz, 14-17-17-32, 2x16, Micron rev.E, 1.45v)

Storage 1: Kingston KC3000 2TB RAID0 (2x1TB, NVME, PCI-E 3.0)

Storage 2: Seagate LM015 2TB (2.5, HDD, SATA3)

Storage 3: Integral UltimaPro 512GB (SDXC, 100r/50w, PCI-E)

Display: AU Optronics B173ZAN0.10 (4K, 60Hz)

is there a way to apply a 200w modification to a non-g-sync card vbios?
there is no logic reason that it cannot be done...

my water-cooling system is waiting for this 200w card!
if someone have a 200w vbios for rtx 3080 as well, I will be happy too.

Like I said I think there is but you first have to convert your 2080 to g-sync. I think this is done by changing a strap resistor somewhere on the board and then flashing the g-sync BIOS or in your case the 200W BIOS. Check info here:

200W VBIOS for RTX 3080 does not exist unfortunately.

thanks for your info!
what can we do nowadays to boost RTX 3080 performance apart from making conventional overclocking?
