Nvidia vs. AMD (Mobile)

Linux

Recommended Posts

Apart from the MXM discussion, is there any reason to prefer a mobile AMD GPU over Nvidia at the moment? Mid-range is fine, i haven't played AAA titles for a long time. I am still running a mobile GTX1060 and i have totally lost any overview of current GPU technologies. Is there anything relevant, where AMD has an edge?

2 weeks and no reaction to such a general question? Bummer.

Conclusion: AMD is no match for Nvidia. Next laptop will have a Nvidia GPU again.

I think AMD is making progress but they need to fine tune for their target markets. Battery life and hybrid. It seems they are focusing on CPU these days which is not bad but only half the equation that most tend to look at.
