Latitude E5470 Coincidental manufacturing date?

Hi. So after recently getting a Dell E5470 (a golden laptop for me), I wonder, after seeing the date of it’s manufacture, it’s 2017…I thought it was 2016…was this perhaps a re-release of some sort? And how come that the E5470s, had two designs, one without the trackpoint and…triple mouse click things (sorry, i’m not that good at definitions much), and another one with them. I wonder if there’s any difference between them, this model was actually used in my district by teachers, using windows 7. Isn’t that cool? Again, just wanna know if mine is different
