Sebastian Ramirez
Good evening everyone, So I want to change the motherboard of my Alienware 18 (the CN-04703X motherboard) for a new one because I'm a bit afraid that the old one won't last too much. The thing is, I managed to change the BIOS display setting to SG mode (I modified the BIOS because I'm going to install a GTX1070 in the future). So when I get the motherboard and change it, will the SG setting stay as is? or will I loose my modification or cause further problems? (Or should I change to default display setting, swap the motherboard and then I can swap it to SG back again?) Please help and thanks, I just want to make sure I don't cause display issues, its an expensive laptop.
Maxware79 Posted yesterday at 02:03 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:03 AM You will need to flash the new motherboard with the modifed BIOS. All that information is stored on the BIOS chip on the board.
