I just got the Asus TUF A14. but its a bummer that the TUF only got an IPS screen, so I'm looking to replace the TUF A14's IPS screen (BOE NE140QDM-NX7) with an OLED panel, specifically one of the Samsung ATNA40CU variants (as used by many many laptops, like Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, HP Omen Transcend 14, or even the TUF's more expensive brother the ROG Zephyrus G14) and as a very nice bonus, the OLED panel is 80g lighter than the IPS! and while both screens are 14 inches with basically the same dimensions, use 40-pin eDP connectors, have extremely similar connector locations, and use 3.3V input voltage; I recognize that there's still a couple of issues that need to be solved before I can replace an IPS panel on a laptop with an OLED: The OLED has a different refresh rate & resolution compared to the TUF's original screen, so it might cause compatibility issues with the TUF's BIOS a laptop with IPS panel that only has DC dimming, would not have any hardware nor drivers to PWM dim an OLED panel Because the IPS panel doesn't have a listed VBAT voltage & power, I'm concerned that the TUF just doesn't have any backup battery/power sources & connections that the OLED may need to function So do you guys here know whether there's any way to solve all of these issues?
