I'll describe some of my upgrade attempts for my Acer Aspire 8735g laptop. I replaced the P-series processor with a T9900 and increased the RAM capacity to 4+4=8GB. The crucial point is the GPU. To upgrade it, I experimented with the AMD FirePro M5100 GDDR5 2GB and the AMD FirePro W5170m GDDR5 2GB. My original card was an Nvidia GT 240m. When I installed the AMD FirePro W5170m and started the PC, there was no image on the main screen, so I connected it to a TV via HDMI, and there was a video output. Naturally, because the PC's display technology was outdated, I couldn't get an image on the laptop screen. When I installed the AMD FirePro M5100, everything went smoothly, and the PC started, but this time I noticed there was no sound. The sound output on the card was conflicting with the PC's sound system. Despite trying different drivers, I couldn't overcome the sound problem.
