Corn Fed Brainlet Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I'm a quiet enthusiast for modular, old, laptops, and I have a soft spot for old HP Elitebooks / ZBooks. I know enough about computers to be fairly confident (read dangerous) mucking about the internals. I have an HP Elitebook 8770w that I'm thinking about sticking a new GPU in, and I'm on the hunt for a Zbook [15/17] G4 spec'd out. I have an old, what would've been top of the line Elitebook 8530w that I refuse to let die. One of the things that bothers me the most is the move away from repairable laptops to thin clients that break if you look at them sideways. It's not a real laptop if you can't beat a man to death with it and have it still boot, or something. Anyway, I hope to find help here in my journey keeping the machines I love so dearly alive. 1
