Okay then it should also work in M18xR2.

I'm sure it will work. the native bios does not require 4g decoding. the main problem is with heatsink, but it can be solved.

I think vBIOS with 4g decoding is only reason some Ada GPUs and even A4500 Amphere didn't work in M18xR2. 

 

It would be quite difficult to implement, but we could at least add ReBar support and see if it helps.

Well, in any case, I tried flashing other bios from 4060m - and the first one seems to have checked for this feature. my test computer (and I tested it initially on a PC through an adapter) did not want to boot and judging by the postcodes hung on pcie device detection.

If you want to send me your current unlocked BIOS, I can try adding at least resizable bar support and you can test to see if it works. But you need to make sure you have a programmer and can backup your current bios in case flash doesn't work. 

 

If it works, I plan to make M17xR4, M18xR2, AW 18 and AW 17 rebar BIOS

Hi all, at this stage it makes sense to go ahead and try for a small miracle. I have a programmer and one spare  M18XR2 motherboard  just for testing . I can test and test. Here's my dump. Thank you.

Good luck. First step will be to flash and see if it boots LOL.

if it boots, chances are it worked. BUT..after flashing, go to BIOS, make sure legacy rom is completely disabled (no csm mode). 

 

Boot to windows and download ReBarstate: https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/releases/download/0.3/ReBarState.exe

 

Type 8 and press enter. Reboot and relaunch rebarstate to see what it says, also check GPU-Z. 

 

Since you have rtx 5000 series it should at least recognize if rebar is on in bios or not. 

 

If everything boots after typing 8 in rebarstate and rebooting, it technically should be working with 256MB bar size. After that we can try 32 value. The problem is, this bios does have not above 4g decoding option, so we are trying to make it work without it. 

 

 

You can always reset to normal by resetting cmos.

 

I do have one other thing we can try to enable above 4g but first let's test this bios. 

 

ALSO NOTE TO ANYONE ELSE: This BIOS was made ysing @janepa BIOS dump. Please do not flash to your own M18x. I can make one for the general once we can figure out if this even works.

Yes I had a programmer and thanks god it helped me save my AW18 that got bricked because of editing Short Turbo delay...

BTW do you have RTX 3000 130w or 120w vBIOS? I'm using stock HP vBIOS which is 90W I think. I tried a few from techpowerup but they all caused weird issues. 

 

If you have working vBIOS on M18xR2 above 100w I would like to try it out too

Okay, I understood about this. I have ADLINK RTX5000 with 110W +5% boost peak in games about 130w and drivers installed via NVCleanstall . If do you need vbios from this gpu i can send to you no problem, but i think is completely different iron then you have.

I was buing this card in year 2023 on ebay from PNY seller i think. It was new and price was really really good i cant remember how much exactly i think about 350 eur , but shipping was almost the same because the seller was not shipp to my country . It was horor because i want this card ,but shipping options was not .

Yes, it will be great to have 2 cards, but I'm happy for this one. I watched your result with R1 a few weeks ago and I'm impressed. I kinda planning RTX5000 to R1 as you write and 4060 to R2 if it works out , because efficiency 4060 are much better and i must make new heatsink for new card too. It what will do RTX5000 with 110w will do the same job RTX4060  only with 30 wats.

 

Anyways i was testing the new bios from you and bingo working like charm without any issues good job. Now i swap testing board and i will continue with procedure. Give me some time please. A little question. I was looking on this thread : https://github.com/terminatorul/NvStrapsReBar and maybe it will be works wih my quadro too or not ?

 

And little present for the end. Perhaps it will be help.

No, not yet, please hold on. I was testing new bios till now on my spare motherboard only with monitor nothing more. Now i will put original board and all other components and will be to continue with right proceed , but i think  ,no I'm believe it shud be work . Most important thing  was right inserting ffs file and this is was done by ssj92 on first shoot.

We can try that one after. 

 

Once you test on your normal board, try doing the rebar enable through command prompt. 

 

Also, in the BIOS there's a setting called MAX TOLUD. I think default is 2.25GB or 2.5GB. 

 

After you have tried the command prompt enable (even if it works or not). Go to bios and change MAX TOLUD value to "Dynamic". Then see if it works. 

 

I don't think it's exactly the same as above 4g decode, but should help hopefully.
