Mr. Fox

Recommended Posts

Update 8/31/2022: Both are sold now.

Price: $35 USD each (one of each available)

Condition: Used by like new... these are not wear and tear items, LOL.

Warranty: None

Reason for sale: They don't work with 12th Gen CPUs and I don't own 10th/11th Gen any more.

Payment: PayPal, Zelle

Item location: San Tan Valley, AZ

Shipping: Lower 48 US - First Class Package $5 USD
International shipping: Actual cost plus any taxes, duties, VAT, etc. I am unable to estimate these costs.
Handling time: Next Business Day

FeedbackeBay ProfileOC.net MarketPlace

Specification: One of each is available. The 11th Gen frame works perfectly for 10th Gen CPUs, but not the other way. (You can't use the 10th Gen on 11th Gen because the rectangle for the die is too small.) These are no longer available from RockitCool, or not in stock.

You wrecking this would work on the x170? Take it would be a LIM removal too?

I think it would work fine for CPU retention using the same screws as the ILM, except for the fact you would have to do something with the air gap between the die and heat sink cold plate that would occur with the IHS removed. You can't pull it down to the die because of the part of the cold plate than needs to make contact with the VRM components. If you to fill that gap with a small vapor chamber soldered to the part of the cold plate that normally contacts the IHS, that might work. It would definitely be an exploratory and experimental project due to the geometric complications with the design of the stock heat sink.

Didn't think of that, thanks for pointing that out. Goodluck with the sale.
