Hey there, is it possible to install the R2 Mainboard in the R1 without issues?

I bought an R2 Board very cheap. I will give it a try and give you a reply if it works or not.

Let us know, would be very interesting to see if it fits in, although you'll need to drill a hole for the sd card reader lol

It’s not that easy as I thought. Half of the screws doesn’t fit. First of all I need the sub assy to hold the Mainboard. Also the ribbon cables from the touchpad and the keyboard are in the wrong position. The chassis itself is possible with a little bit modification.

If you still have the mobo and have no use for it, you can resell it to me, I ve got a spare chasis that I may use to drill holes etc and fix the mobo, Im pretty usre the RTX 2080 (R1) can be fitted into R2 mobo. 

 

Besides Ive got a custom vapor chamber heatsink so Im all set if you want to experiment.

I sold my r1 but Heatsink and Mobo from R2 are still in my hands.
