Bonty
Hi, My 7530 battery has just died. According to my service tag it currently has a GHXKY installed however I'd like to upgrade it to a 97wh 6 cell battery. The battery I have seen is a genuine 97wh and is a CJ18V. Given that mine is 7.6v and the 6 cells are 11.4v, are the power management boards different ? I'm also aware that Dell used two different battery power connectors as well.... Is the 97Wh OK to install into my 7530. Worst case requiring a different power connector? Thanks....
Aaron44126
Should be fine, unless you have a 2.5” SATA drive installed, then the larger battery will not fit. burntstew
If swapping from the 4 cell to the larger 6 cell ends up requiring different power connectors do tell as ill likely be doing the reverse soonish.
MyPC8MyBrain
@burntstew the plug has to be the same, you are not swapping the board just the battery connected to it the impossible is not impossible, its just haven't been done yet.
