You need to switch graphics mode in SG and disable all CSM/Legacy in Boot. you can modify the driver inf file yourself or use NVCleanstall. -

no, it won't work at all. I checked. Only through HWiNFO64 can you manually launch everything together -

I once saw an adapter for a USB port that was inserted into this port. you can insert some kind of small whistle from a wireless mouse there. -

3940XM overclocking - parameters to change.

this is extremely low, did you definitely increase the Flex VID Override manually or did you try to get the most out of the standard Level 3 Flex VID Override? and what is your flex vid override at level 3? 25? and by the way, Flex VID Override does not set values greater than 50.- 23 replies

And I also noticed that you do not have a copper radiator. since this is a homemade 3-pipe, but I seem to have seen somewhere that it is a couple of degrees steeper than my two-pipe, even though it has a copper radiator (I attach a photo of mine). there you can see that one tube is made of steel, and two tubes are made of copper. yours is also steel.- 23 replies

You can increase the multipliers further until the system becomes unstable, at which point you will need to increase the Flex VID Override (this is an increase in CPU voltage). Personally, everything works stably for me on 46, 46, 46, 46 and 44 Flex VID Override, and on 42 Flex VID Override everything is also stable. But I have a couple of games where it crashes after about an hour. So, I set it a little larger for maximum stability. I'm using a dual heatsink and Gelid GC-Extreme thermal paste, but want to switch to liquid metal. Since the temperatures in the stress tests are high, I even temporarily lowered all the multipliers to 45 and Flex VID Override to 39, since the thermal paste lost a little of its properties in just two weeks. It's time to change it to liquid metal or stay at 44 or 45 and replace it with new thermal paste. When I change to liquid metal, I might even try to use 47 multipliers on an ongoing basis. But you may have slightly better or slightly worse overclocking results, since all processors are different and there are better ones. And you have a 3940XM, and I have a 3920XM.- 23 replies

Thank you so much for this advice, it worked for me. I also found a bios for P4000 with even higher frequencies than in “P4000M_OC3.rom” (here 1708 MHz) namely 1747 and 1772 MHz (here there was a 122 watt TDP limit). Here is the result in 3DMark Time Spy at 1772 MHz and 122 watts: http://www.3dmark.com/spy/48552907 I also tested this in furmark, I am attaching a photo. Later, I tried using Mobile Pascal TDP Tweaker to increase the TDP limit to 136 watts and my result in Time Spy increased, and later I tested this overclocking in Fire Strike, here are the results: http://www.3dmark.com/spy/48553671 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/31898973 I also attach a photo of the furmark test with the same overclocking If you have questions, ask

Ray Tracing on M18xR2 - RTX 3000 MXM Upgrade!

I think you'll have to flash both unless you buy it as a Dell/Alienware specific one. I think it's from Aetina. This is a good video card, but I don't know which is better: HP or Aetina. probably from Aetina, since it does not require modifications, such as gluing a new mount to the motherboard in order to screw the HP video card more securely and modifying the video card heatsink. But if HP is cheaper and this matters to you, you can take it. And you can also look for the RTX 4000 - because it sometimes costs a little more, but its performance is much better, the heating is not much more. And if you had a 7970M, then you most likely have an AMD 100-watt radiator. I have the same one, it is suitable for Nvidia video cards and cools extremely well. but you should still look at this, if you have a 75 watt radiator, then this is a bit bad. For the RTX 4000 you will have to take a 100-watt one, but for the RTX 3000 a 75-watt one is enough, although I like to lower temperatures to the maximum and would take a 100-watt one. -

If you are going to use it to flash not only this 970M, but maybe also your future RTX 3000, then I advise you to take a 1.8 volt adapter, since video cards of the Pascal generation and newer use a 1.8 volt BIOS chip instead of 3.3. This is it? if not, then I have no idea about this manufacturer at all, I personally dealt with RTX cards from HP, I saw cards from Aetina and Adlink, but not a word about Getec. -

this is only possible with a programmer if it is not detected. -

970M does not need SG mode, but unlocked bios is required, it will work with it even in PEG mode. so, the problem is in the video card, in any case. I advise you to try turning on SG, I think that your laptop will start, but the video card may not be detected (in this case, most likely the video card is completely broken or the vbios is not suitable), and if it is detected, but there is a code 43 when trying to install drivers, it can be restored. maybe the vbios is inappropriate or the memory chip is broken, well, there are many options. try SG mode and see if it is detected in the BIOS. if not, then maybe it’s worth trying to reflash the vbios or it’s broken. -

Hello, in order for two cards (built-in and discrete) to be displayed in device managers, you need to enable the SG (Switchable Graphics) mode. This is exactly what you need to install RTX 3000 and the like, because they don't have LVDS(our internal video output of the monitor) support. This mode will work with your 7970 too, don't be afraid. -
@aldarxtI want it, but there are no cheap options in my country yet. I already have 17 R1, but I will sell it very soon and later I am going to take M17x R4. I’m also still thinking about some kind of clevo, something like p775tm.

Tesla M6 is a server video card that does not have video outputs, so it can only be used as a graphics accelerator with built-in graphics. The video card itself cannot output image as 980M.
-
Personally, I used to have a Tesla M6 (server analogue of the 980M without video outputs) overclocked, working in SG mode without any switching and consuming 136 W without any problems, but it didn’t want to consume more than 136 watts Thank you, I may try this later, but right now I have no desire to disassemble the laptop again and flash that overclocked BIOS.)

Yes, it's sad that she doesn't seem to fit. I flashed the regular BIOS at the moment and now I don't have any problems with it anymore. Although this has a bad effect on performance, I now have stable frequencies and no stutters. By the way, here is my 3DMark result(if anyone is interested in how it performs in tests with the stock bios). http://www.3dmark.com/spy/48233173

Now, I have already tried "P4000M_OC.rom", but still my frequency is constantly jumping. Now I have increased the power limit of "P4000M_OC.rom" using Mobile Pascal TDP Tweaker. and it still drops even before reaching the threshold of 136 watts(I attach photo). and at this time it does not even write Perf in PerfCapReason, and the rest of the time it writes Idle. This is extremely strange, maybe I'm doing something wrong? Can anyone help me so that my video card maintains high frequencies at all times?
-
@aldarxt, hi, I have it and everything is fine. I immediately flashed it with the bios from the Macrumors website "P4000M_OC3.rom", but there are some problems. in Time Spy I get 4300 Graphics score, while others with "P4000M_OC.rom" get around 4700-4800, what could be the matter(I have 330W AC Adapter)? Because, as I see from the GPU-Z graph (I attach a photo). My frequency is constantly decreasing due to the power limit. Maybe I should try flashing that "P4000M_OC.rom" vBIOS? And maybe I can use Pascal TDP Tweaker to increase the power limit from 115 watts to 136 watts?

I don’t have a photo of the back and I’m sure that it has vbios from Lenovo, but I have a programmer, a 1.8 volt adapter and the skills to work with it. so it won't be a problem for me. I took this risk that the video card might not work at all due to the price of $55 with shipping in my country. I can’t buy a video card directly from ebay from my country, and through intermediaries the price rises significantly. Ordering it on AliExpress would not be a problem, but it costs more than 55 dollars.)

This is a mistake from the seller(he has a Lenovo thinkpad p70) and I think that it simply does not fit his laptop, because as I know, only Maxwell can be installed in the P70, this is a feature of their BIOS, and only Pascal in the P71. I wanted to clarify before purchasing whether it was working or whether the seller was doing something wrong, but I had already decided to order. tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I will have it, I think everything will be fine, because this is not code 43. but it is from Lenovo, so I will probably need to flash another vbios.
-
Hello everyone, I want to buy a P4000, supposedly not working for my m18x r2. the seller is asking a low price for it, but it has error code 31. Is this a problem with driver modding or could there be something wrong with the video card? because, as I know: code 43 may mean a video card failure, not code 31
