Slightly related video, but TLDR people dislike Nickleback in particular because the band is a prime example of so-so musical talent and by-the-nunbers record companies conspiring to push generic music to popularity and stack fat stacks in the process. Plenty of bland bands exist for sure, though this is more a case of people going "I bet you this slop will make bank" and customers falling for it hook line sinker. Not that I'm any better; I owned Silver Side Up back when it was contemporary and even today I still gladly sometimes listen to generic stuff (hell, see some of the stuff I post here). Personally as far as this sort of rock goes, while I unironcially like Photograph, I like Puddle of Mudd a bit more but even then mainly because of that one song in Ace Combat 5.

Sure, and a kid can illicitly drink booze from their parents' fridge. Doesn't make it right nor does it mean age checking for booze is inappropriate.
-
It's pretty simple: some materials are age restricted. Kids can't buy booze or smokes either, offline or online.

Black Friday hardware haul. We managed to get two of the Lowes bucket giveaways which had a fair bit of tools, batteries, etc. Since we didn't have tools for said battery system, I went ahead and picked up a 4-tool combo that came with another 2 free. Also picked up a ladder at Home Depot, some poinsettias, and some paint supplies.

Funny enough, most of my failures have been Seagates. Granted, these are SMR Barracudas pulled out of external enclosures to save a few bucks. But overall Backblaze data generally doesn't point out any meaningful difference in drives anymore usually, so I just go by what's available / what's the price per TB.

x2 Toshiba X300 Pro 8TB hard drives. Have one drive in the NAS reporting SMART errors and another that simply will not spin anymore.

Personally I've used rubbing alcohol first, then window cleaner, all with microfiber cloth. Works pretty well. Have done some car stuff on my own too, just filters, but looking forward to doing my own oil change soon-ish.

Finished my last home project (repainting the porch) and now having to think about replacing my car's cabin air filter. What a massive PITA: https://youtu.be/eNyvQYGgb6I?si=inavqfMoRGUypRcc

Picked up a bunch of stuff from Harbor Freight during this week's sale, but mainly the big items included a mechanic's cart (sadly not in purple), 10in miter saw, rolling stand for said saw, and a 6in grinding wheel.

Been listening to a composer's music again as of recent, getting back into an EDM-ish kick with Yunosuke's music as well as covers of it. I Seek You - Yunosuke (Hatsune Miku):

Microcenter opened up a store in Charlotte recently, so we drove down last weekend to check it out. Picked up a few things but most interesting was a replacement battery for the Dell 7577. Didn't even realize that Inland sold laptop batteries. Also picked up some small things from Ikea because hey, why not. More recently, I picked up some stuff from Costco's website, specifically new sneakers. Apparently, Kirkland has their own shoes now, so I picked up two pairs to see if they're any good, especially for $25/ea. Also ordered a new set of checks as I was running low and still pay bills like an old fudd.

Put a pause on the other books I mentioned in this thread as I'm waiting for the English translations to be released. In the meanwhile, I've been reading The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten series (finished volume 5.5, need to get around to grabbing the rest) and I paused reading Spice and Wolf after finishing volume 6.

Some garage/shop stuff, but the main thing was getting a proper shop vac instead of using a repurposed home vacuum cleaner.

This and some other mixes have brought me back to the days when I played GT3/GT4 for far too long:

Going to stay home and see the partial one perhaps (depending on meetings). Though I'm not too upset about that as I saw totality during 2017.

A refurbished M2 MBA 13 with the upgraded SoC, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD in space gray. Waited for the release of the M3s to see what the discounts would be like and other places like Costco didn't have any enticing configs/prices so went refurb instead.
