  1. For the RAM, did you mean the 1866Mhz? I can seem to find the 2133Mhz version anywhere. Also could you provide more information on the WiFi Card? I want to order all my parts this week to finally upgrade my laptop. CPU - You suggested he is fine with the I7 3940XM. I don’t have an extreme, so this will be a completely new upgrade. Someone else here mentioned to go with the I73920XM instead. Since I have the option between both, which one would be better the 3920 or 3940? GPU - Going with the quadro RTX 3000.
  2. Thank you for the response, how does the RTX 3000/4000 compare to the RTX 1070? Also what is your recommendation on RAM?
  3. I’m in the similar situation. I purchased my M18x R2 back in 2012 and it’s been holding strong ever since. At the time I chose the AMD 7970s Crossfire over the NVDIA 680M SLI and that’s probably my biggest regret. I want to upgrade anything possible on this beast that I can with the best if not second best options. I’m looking for: 1. CPU Upgrade - I don’t have an Extreme so I know I need to upgrade my CPU being that it’s from 2012 and isn’t clockable. 2. GPU - Currently using (if you can call it that ) the AMD 7970M with Crossfire. Windows 10 doesn’t support AMD Legacy Drivers that well, so I’ve been running off the integrated GPU instead on my dedicated GPUs. I currently use this laptop with dual 1080p monitors using a USB splitter. Whatever video card you can recommend that would support this setup would be truly appreciated. If I can get away with a single GPU that would be great. If I have to go with another dual GPU setup again, that’s fine too. 3. RAM - I saw you mentioned 32gb? Are these able to handle 8gb per socket? For some reason, I was under the impression they could only support 4gb per socket, but it I’m wrong I’ll definitely upgrade this too. Which RAM would you recommend? 4. Anything else you could recommend upgrading would be truly appreciated.
