Thanks for answer. I read somewhere BIOS must be unlocked to avoid issues with fan control of 8970m. And beside this crossfire cable is different for 8970m comparing to 6970m (slightly wider?). So i doubt is it reasonable to order two 8970M cards or only one would be enough. Is there some manuals of BIOS unlocking? i have stock A05.

Hello all! I have M18X R1 with two Radeon 6970m, and both doesn't work. Is it possible to replace both those card with 8970m? will i need to unlock BIOS, mod drivers e.t.c? will two 8970m work in crossfire mode?
