Bueller may have known the answer, but it was his day off.

Hey, triturbo, good to see your post! I may want to sell my 940XM ES, and I am in Washington state in the USA. I am not ready to make the decision yet, so if you do not get a 920XM soon and are then interested, let me know, and I will let you know. I do not suppose you ever got a Pascal card to work with an 8740w's DreamColor 2. Did you, somehow?

Precision 5770 No Longer Available?
rahasyavadi replied to wallstreetbets's topic in Pro Max & Precision Mobile Workstation
Here are some advanced configurations still available, for high prices!: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/advanced-precision-5770-workstation/spd/precision-17-5770-laptop/xctop5770usvpge I figure they find they sell a lot more of the XPS 9720 in the lower configurations. -
For me, the most interesting thing about the Dragons is that they eventually added the option of 1920x1200 resolution to their 20" screens (the video mentions only 1680x1050 resolution).

Does anyone else see no content to the post just above, from MobileActor (MobileArtist on the old forum)? He just now told me he sees the text on the post, but I surely see only blank space.

Edit: I was mistaken: there is no longer a 17" ZBook Fury for G9. My observation was thus illusory.

In "1MKVH CVR,BTM,FHD,DGPU,7770 U $19.99", the "FHD" portion apparently indicates (if not published in error) that the 7770 offers a 16:9 1920x1080 screen; Dell calls a 16:10 1920x1200 screen "FHD+".

I agree: from the photo evidence you show, 7770 is highly likely to be 16:9. In that case, a 5770, if offered, would be the best Precision candidate for my use, because it would be 16:10 17". I do not expect to be in the mood to settle for 16", and definitely not 16:9 17", and the better thermal envelopes of the 7760 and 7770 would not be necessary for me, although welcome.

Seeing the width-to-height ratios on both, I figure that the 7760 will be 16:10 but that the 7770 will be 16:9 unless they fill the bottom chin with screen this time.

Did anyone save anything from the "What notebook should I buy?" thread? The Wayback Machine got almost none of that one.

I see that this page: https://www.nbrchive.net/xfa/hp-business-class-notebooks.1083/HP EliteBook 8740w Owners Lounge - PART 2/page18.html is the final working page of its thread, which originally was much longer. I wonder if the rest of the thread was not retrieved. The Wayback Machine has the rest, but the format is off.- 150 replies
